So, without political sperging! Does anyone have a guess as to why Stan and especially Kyle have been sidelined in Season 27? A lot of other characters have been suspiciously absent so far Ike, Jimmy, Timmy and Harrison Yates all haven't shown up in the season at all so far. While Tweek, Craig, Wendy, Shelly, Sheila Broflovski and Tolkien haven't had much or any speaking roles. Also some characters that just make sense to appear like Strong Women or Father Maxi just haven't

If the Wok is Dead episode aired even 10 or so years ago, they would have had the b plot, it would have them be the ones to find out Labubus were Satanic. Maybe a plot could have had Stan looking into buying Labubus after Wendy feels felt out for not having any and Kyle finds out their demonic. We also would have had some Cartman banter too

Stan and Kyle don't benefit from current topical episodes anymore, or to be more specific, not as much compared to Cartman, Randy and Butters, who most certainly DO.
Trey's too fucking old to self insert on a little boy anymore and while Kyle is Matt's insert, Trey does all the writing so if Trey can't be bothered with Stan, he has no reason to try with Kyle.
