Bobby and Connie are 21 in 2025, yet they have a flashback to a school dance that took place in 1999 (or it might have been 1998). Cotton still fought in WW2 despite the fact that he died 8 years ago at 75 years old. It's kind of a have your cake and eat it too situation with the repercussions being that the timeline makes absolutely no sense, unlike say The Simpsons where the timeline makes sense, but Homer and Marge are millenials now
