Wouldn't know if Gunn's Lex is based on Musk specifically though, since there's so many people who are like that it could literally be referring to anyone. No shortage of people who decry the kind of attitude the more modern Superman leans towards. Though I've seen a few anons talk about it before and I think it's important to the topic: When did Superman adopt the sort of 'boyscout' attitude we see today? Was it a 90's or 80's thing? Because I've seen a few posts mention that Golden or Silver age superman was a bit different than what most modern depictions of him are.

In Golden age he can be seen as a bit more tough on crime kinda thing.
