TaleSpin premiered. Widely considered one of the best Disney Afternoon cartoons of all time.
>>150279145TaleSpin was considered a massive failure by Disney. Eisner literally yelled at the heads of his television animation department because Tiny Toon Adventures ate their lunch. There's a reason why all of Disney's tv shows going forward were more wacky and zany and less adventure-focused
>>150279145Awesome!
>>150279145If I could kidnap an executive and tie him to a bomb, I would. Then release only if the entire series gets remastered.
kino show
I am salty it seems there won't be an HD re-scan. I expected it after they did for Rescue Rangers and Goof Troop.
>>150279177I'd say Darkwing Duck split the difference.
>>150279145No. It was just a few years ago. I remember. I was just a couple of years younger when it aired. Surely. Not 35 years. No. No. It can't be. That's impossible.
>>150279145I honestly think it's the best Disney Afternoon show.
>>150279145It wasn't the BEST but its cozy
>>150279145I miss when TV cartoons would just suddenly have shit of this level of quality in them.
>>150279145This show defined my childhood, and for once I actually associated with the intended character for my demographic, Kit. Usually kid characters in cartoons are just annoying, like I loved TMNT, but I always hated when those kids showed up and got in the way. I don't want to pretend I know the turtles, I want to pretend I am a turtle. But Kit was cool and relatable, and he had an airfoil, so what's not to like? To this day I still walk around without pants on.
>>150279177execs are too reactionaryducktales was adventure focused and it ate plenty of lunches
I admire Shere Khan for having his own air force and navy.
>>150283486>To this day I still walk around without pants on.Not in public....... right?
>>150279145never seen it
>>150285063shit like that scene was why I watchedI also find it funny they removed the two episodes that painted China as the friendly sleeping enemywhich means they won anyway in real life
>>150287748Would you watch the uncut pilot (taped TV broadcast, songs included)?
>>150287857
>>150287748You've... never seen TaleSpin?
>>150288059>If I wanted media about animals using aerial vehicles why would I ever want to see lame shit like Talespin?>lame shit like Talespin
>>150283486heh
>>150282521>I am salty it seems there won't be an HD re-scan. I expected it after they did for Rescue Rangers and Goof Troop. You would've thought they'd do it, and others like Darkwing Duck, but then again they never even promoted the HD version of RR or GT. RR likely only got a Blu-ray release due to the movie.I had hoped more would be remastered, especially those that look really shitty, like Gargoyles. All the dark scenes are terrible quality.
>>150288010No, kys.
Where was Molly's dad?Why was Rebecca single? Did her husband die in a war? Were they divorced? Why was she a single bear mom? Also did she and Baloo ever do the horizontal mambo?
>>150290255Far away. Shit happens. I dunno lol. Seems like it. Because of aforementioned things. Eventually.
>>150279145Sam and Diane, crossed with Indiana Jones, but with anthros. And it works because...say it with me: Anthros make things interesting.
>>150290255I think it's implied in a side-comic that her dad's outright dead.
>>150290255He died in the war most fans assume.
>>150290255>did she and Baloo ever do the horizontal mambo? Not sure.By the end the the series they were starting to get romantic and even went on several dates. So it was headed towards that direction.
>>150279145Why did they use Jungle Book characters? Seems random.
>>150290783The movie had a recent theater rerun and somebody in Disney figured they could use that to get this show noticed more.
>>150279145I watched some because Anons here keep shilling it. And it's okay. It's like a more conservative Chip And Dale Rescue Rangers.
I love Louie
Out of the 65-episode syndicated Disney Afternoon shows, TaleSpin probably had the best consistent quality. Sure, the Molly-focused episodes were garbage, but most of the rest are still quality. Time Waits for No Bear, I Only Have Ice for You, Vowel Play, Bearly Alive, For a Fuel Dollars More, On a Wing and a Bear, The Balooest of the Bluebloods, A Baloo Switcheroo, Double or Nothing, War of the Weirds, The Time Bandit, For Whom the Bell Klangs, Gruel and Unusual Punishment, Pizza Pie in the Sky, Mach One for the Gipper, Stuck on You, The Road to Macadamia, and Your Baloo's in the Mail are all top notch comedy. Also, Cape Suzette looks amazing. Kinda 50's deco style with waterfalls everywhere.
>>150291683Thanks, robot.
>>150290691I always liked that for all the shit they'd give each other Baloo and Rebecca could be fiercely protective and pretty much do anything for one another
>>150291851You could at least learn to recognize AI posts instead of making yourself look like a retard.
I would totally fuck kit up the ass
>>150292629Organic robots are still robots.
Baloo should have choked that annoying bitch Becky
>>150283486The kid once ran off to the Soviet Union to join a suicide parasite fighter pilot program.
>>150292728He's like 12 years old, dude.
>>150293983yeah.. and? hes a cartoon bear. it doesnt matter. piss off
DEVIATION FROM FLIGHT PLAN IS UNACCEPTABLE!

>>150287893This gives me Kirby's Dreamland vibesAlso Chinese spy balloons lol
>>150297851Different Anon here. I wouldn't want to make any drawings a sicko like this would enjoy, but it's still really fucking gross, and they should probably still kill themselves just for being so gross.
>>150298326*I wouldn't want to make any drawings a sick like this would enjoy ILLEGALForgot a word
kit is the cutest
>>150279145I only vaguely remember this
>>150298322
Why would you bother fapping to Kit when Baloo is right there and is sexy
>>150290783Time constraints. They wanted the main character to be similar to Baloo, in personality, but couldn't come up with a new character in time.
>>150287893>>150287909These are some of the most incompetent pilots I've ever seen.
>>150302451City budget doesn't offer much flight time.
>>150290255No one knows who Molly's dad was, or what became of him. It was never mentioned in the show, not even brought up as a question. Rebecca's status as a single mom wasn't even remarked upon as anything unusual.I liked the way Disney handled that, actually. Avoided an awkward situation by having everyone be too polite to acknowledge the situation existed. Propriety is almost a lost art these days.
>>150279177>TaleSpin was considered a massive failure by Disney. Eisner literally yelled at the heads of his television animation department because Tiny Toon Adventures ate their lunch. There's a reason why all of Disney's tv shows going forward were more wacky and zany and less adventure-focusedIs that where bonkers came from, I don't remember that show much. Not sure it was bad or good overall.

>>150309153You know how Millennials talk about how much better shit was in the 90s? They're right, if you actually engage in the shit they mention they're 100% right, shit really was just that much better and we got born at just the wrong time to witness the fucking awful shit that came later.
>>150283222Crazy to think the amount of effort and money was being put into tv cartoons at that timeand that we simply will not ever see it again
>>150316687a few things have happened in the interimthere's lots of rules and laws governing how you advertise to children on TV, making it harder to get the funds required to sustain animationwe went from like 5 broadcast channels to a hundred cable channels to a hundred streaming services, massively fragmenting audiencesjapanese studios went from working for absolute slave wages to commanding a premium for outsource workthe handful of american outsource studios that existed back then dried up after WB-Spielberg stopped churning out saturday morning cartoons in favor of importing cheap animetoday's western studios mostly specialize in puppet rig animationadult swim showed people will tune in to cartoons with $50 of budget so long as the jokes were good
Did anyone ever watch Jungle Cubs?
>>150305315>>150310365>>150315610What sorta games do they play?
>>150309063Based on ehat?
>>150283222I can't believe that the Iron Vulture didn't get a single toy version of it released. A Technodrome- scale set wasn't likely, but I've never even found anything simple like a Mcdonald's happy meal toy or one of the Disney-store exclusive replicas.
>>150279145Where does the Tale Spin?
>>150321031A real shame.
>>150321031did talespin get any toys?
>>150323503Yes, but fuck all of them. And they weren't good.
>>150321031It would make a good pool torpedo
>>150322513I bet this looked real nice originally. Sad we'll never see it in it's HD film glory.
>Bagheera should've been an old friend of Baloos (maybe as a member of the Cape Suzette government)>Kaa should've been Khan's assignment>Haiti should've been a military general and his son should've gone on adventures with Kit>The Vultures should've been The Band at Louie's Place
>>150279145I liked Rescue Rangers better, Gummi Bears was surprisingly decent for what it was as well
>>150279145
>>150309153Roughly 1989 to 2003 was just straight up the golden age of TV animation.
