What are your webcomic goals for autumn?>Thread Challenge:Post your WIP in the thread as soon as you see this. No cleaning up or anything (yes this is the same challenge as last thread, it's a good challenge)
Autumn plans are hopefully continuing to grow an audience somehow, sell more books, and hopefully not fall behind and continue to put out chapters monthly. Don't have any wip art as I just finished the chapters for the next few months the other day.
I’m trying to update but one of the websites is down.

>>150283740Why did you draw me?
I'm not drawing it myself, I'm having another artist help me. I want to get a feel for their skills and how we'll work together so do you guys have any recommendations for what kinds of test pages I could suggest?

>>150283408Thanks!
>>150284594Looks cool
>>150284990Thank you. I'm planning to draw a whole comic in 2 days. (That isn't this one.) It is majorly inspired by Lupin The Third and Inception, and I'm calling it Hook Crook and the Mind's Painting.

Working on the one shot and that's what I am going to work over the autumn. Working on the very rough sketch and from there another draft page by page to see what I want to change.
What's everyone reading? You are reading, right? It's an important part of becoming a better writer.>picrel, finished this today
>>150287342I had to read that in middle school. I'm reading this kino.
>>150287342
>>150282274its been going smoothly, tommorow im workin on the dialogue while one of my buds is workin on the background art.by the time NYCC rolls around this october, hopefully i get it all wrapped up by then and post it on newgrounds too.heres a lil bit from one of my pages, hopefully sooner or later ill whip up some sort of website giving you all the rundown on what my comic is about, any suggestions on where i can do that btw? thatd be cool :)
>>150287342>picrelLost me about halfway through. Incredibly written, but the rambling nature is both it's greatest strength and what wore me out by the end. I appreciate what the author was getting at, but the characters were changed up too frequently for me to be fully invested beyond the halfway point. >>150287394This looks kino...

>>150287342>It's an important part of becoming a better writer.I hear this a lot but I don't think it's necessary unless you want to do the kind of writing which emphasizes a lot of wordy wordsmithing. I do a lot of writing though. and keep many word documents running.
How do people even write comics? I only think in terms of visual gags and the "dialogue" and "writing" comes after. Is it absolutely necessary to have writing documents around and shit?
>>150289557>it absolutely necessary to have writing documents around and shit? No. It's not like there's only one way to do it
>>150288635>I hear this a lot but I don't think it's necessary unless you want to do the kind of writing which emphasizes a lot of wordy wordsmithingGoing to call bullshit on that anon, there's more to writing than words words words. You need to know how to write characters, structure your plot, etc etc. No downside to reading more.

You need to know how to write characters, structure your plot, etc etc. No downside to reading more. The downside of reading is it takes time . Stuff like characters and plot is easy. I have better things to do than read books . Can I write flowery fiction style writing? No. But I don't want to. For comics I prefer to read comics or watch movies
>>150290046to paraphrase Miyazaki, comics that suck tend to come from people who only read comics.

>>150290160Miyazaki is very grumpy though. maybe he was in a bad mood when he said that
