>>150288273cute, I love how Spidey is just dumbfounded at her words
>>150289287It is one of the best pages. Really love it. Especially the little birb on Spider-Man in the last panel

>>150291037You’re welcome, anon
>>150289800yeah some pages like this just stick in your mind for years to come despite not being special or anything from an outsider's perspective. the way she constantly repeats "boyfriend" knowing full well it's Peter underneath is so cute
>>150291801Yeah, it’s one of my favorite pages in comics. I think it is the sincerity that shines through. Chat is so sincere in her love and there is not a hint of irony or put down whatsoever. In modern comics or modern media, any hint of genuine love gets blunted by some snide remark or some joke, but here there is none. Even Spider-Man is floored by it in it. It’s just refreshing, which so strange cause this is an older work.
I never quite grasped how do you make Cloak and Dagger work. I feel like it's hard to write fight scenes around a guy who straight up turns into portal to nightmare dimension. Doesn't leave much room to fight back, you know?
>>150292318My Hero Academia solves this by making the portal villain called Kurogiri have this neck piece that is tangible and can be targeted to hurt him
wonder how Peter will react when Chat eventually tells him she knew he was Spidey all along and that her friend erased both their first meetings before they met again in school as classmates
>>150292545how good/bad is MHA anyway? because I'm well aware of the reputation around its rabid fanbase but at the same time it's basically like shounen X-Men and that sounds tempting to me
>>150293575So the main series is basically is shounen fight series and I have heard (and most likely true) that it stumbles in its ending. However, if you want something more comic bookey, and which I find better than the main series itself, to read it’s sister series MHA: Vigilantes
>>150293359Find out in the next issue of MARVEL ADVENTURES SPIDER-MAN!
>>150292179It's not just that it's an older work that makes it strange, this was also running while ASM was still in BND mode, where they seemed to treat new love interests as insincere props for easy drama and comedy
>>150288256Why doesn't Dagger just throw down her bubble?
>>150293802>treat new love interests as insincere props for easy drama and comedyI am going to do a semi-defense of that. I think the reason why they gave Peter such shallow interests is because they could just take them out if the need ever came to be. If they had given personality, history, motivation, and all that stuff that made a good character, then fans might have latched on to that character which means they would be canonized (atleast in the eyes of fans) in the Spide-man mythos. That would be a pain to write later for various reasons. One would be: what if the love interest was as good as Chat in her own way? You have to know that after OMD, Spider-Man comics were basically baiting fans to see if this future issue might bring Peter and MJ back together, that became their hook. If the writers wrote an actually good love interest that complimented Peter other than MJ (which can be done as seen with Chat), then not only their hook is gone, they would have to come with new ideas on why Peter and that new girl weren’t together when they seemed perfect for each other. It would be another entirely different headache because they can’t really do OMD again with that new character cause then it would be too stupid.I think this is the reason why they don’t really develop Shay in the current ASM run. It’s too risky.
>>150293882Is this from Rivals?
>>150289265What do they do in Rivals?
>>150293947Didn't they kind of try with Carlie, though? They were pushing her pretty hard as Mj's replacement for a while, even though she was the worst BND love interest, it did seem like they were trying to make her the next big thing.
>>150294338Her writing always felt half-hearted to me. And it certainly didn’t work too.
bump
>>150294003Yeah but also her light daggers heal so
>>150293947this is more or less what’s happening, Spider-Man office at Marvel hates the concept of Peter sticking with one partner for whatever reason and it’s why we get a bunch of one-note love interests who don’t seem to go anywhere, including Felicia, all while they keep baiting us (and some writers themselves) about bringing back Peter X MJ just to drive sales
>>150295153>Marvel hates the concept of Peter sticking with one partner for whatever reasonIt could be they are writing for a kind of teenage male audience, showing Peter as a kind of ladies man which only makes it look sleazy
>>150295031Strange powers
