I used to draw multiple times a week, then weekly, and now I writefag weekly and draw only occasionally. Work has consumed so much of what used to be free time and creative energy I needed to draw. I'll never be one of those pro artists who can "just draw". What limited talent I might have only manifests under ideal conditions. To do requests is difficult for me, if I want to deliver one in a reasonable time I have to sacrifice a lot of other things I want to do.I don't believe I am entitled to people's attention or adoration for this, on the opposite side I don't feel like its reasonable for people to demand that I "produce content" or I should show up regularly to do work for free otherwise I'm somehow spiting them, as if there's some relationship between us that creates obligations for me.As to "AI", personally I dislike it but not because it's going to replace me, art is my hobby not my profession, but its got no soul and there is no creative mind behind it, it doesn't draw like a person draws, it assembles patterns of millions of plagiarized chunks of other people's art scraped off the internet. It has no innate care or creativity and when I request or swap art with other artfags I'm as interested in that other mind outside of myself as I am in the pictures. As to why I stopped drawing and writing here, it was mostly because of the fag mods working overtime to suppress Murder Drones as a topic (in my opinion) outside of their defined authority to do so. It's not like we don't still have obnoxious people and tantrum spirals on plus so that isn't any different. The AIfags bitter sentiment doesn't encourage me though, it is true that in the 5-10 hours I might need to satisfactorily complete one request a diffusion model can shit out a thousand pictures. If that's enough for people any drawfags time would better be spent elsewhere.
