If it isn't a good movie, why is it so fondly remembered?
>>150317785it's funny, soulful and decent enough a solid 7/10 imo
>>150317785Nostalgia and basketball americans
>Space Jam (1996)>The Polar Express (2004)WB didn't have one successful theatrical animation movie during that gap. So many flops (Cats Don't Dance, Quest for Camelot, The Iron Giant, Osmosis Jones, Powerpuff Girls movie, Looney Tunes: Back in Action)
>>150318029We get it already Sharkfag, you can read Wikipedia. That's not an impressive feat.
>>150317785It's a 6/10 movie that should have ultimately been a 2/10.Passion + Sincerity = Soul, which is why this movie oozes it and why the sequel lacks it.
>>150317785Why is it that during the early 90’s, golden age inspired cartoons like Ren & Stimpy and Animaniacs were thriving and wacky cartoons were popular among normies again, yet Looney Tunes, the very cartoon that defines being wacky, only made absolute slop like Looney Tunes babies and Bugs meet Michael Jordan?
>>150317785Lola rabbit
>>150317785It's one of those movies that had really good DVD/VHS sales and lots of kids grew up watching it constantly. This was before the age of streaming with ultimated options.
the only good "2D animation meets live action" movie
>>150317785Because its primary demographic was eight year old kids with delusions of sporting greatness.
>>150317785Everyone was 7 watching it
>>1503177851) The music2) Lola BunnyEverything else from the movie was middling at best.
>>150319566Every live action cartoon hybrid after this gradually worsened, when you consider that most live action cartoon films these days are absolute writer driven slop like Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, it makes it hard to remember that Who Framed Rodger Rabbit is what ended the animation dark age.I will forever be pissed off at the fact that toonspergs will support cartoonist driven stuff like The Day the Earth Blew Up over Coyote Vs. ACME.
>>1503177858 words> Everybody get up, it's time to slam now
>>150317785it was fun
Take a wild fucking guess
I rewatched it lately, it's pretty fucked how much they meetoo'd Lola in the sequel, like they didn't include any of her neat dynamic poses or anything. One thing I really liked about Space Jam was watching how all the characters adapted to the court in their retarted cartoon ways, and how Lola didn't really have cartoon powers, she was just straight up good at basketball, and they didn't show any of that?
May the website never die
Probably because us millennials watched it during our childhood, so it gets nostalgia points.>>150318192Lola Bunny.Go to sleep anon, you're tired.
It's a fine dumb movie for kids. Not something you can enjoy as an adult like the golden age shorts.
>>150319566RR is so boring.
is this a known autistdidn't we have an autist make a bunch of threads about "but muh space jam good" a while back
>>150318029>Osmosis Jones>Budget: 70 million>Box Office: 14 millionholy shit brutal
>>150317785In my experience people often memoryhole just how much of the movie is boring and poorly-acted. The animated parts are great but the live action parts drag it down really fucking hard. Every time I've had someone try and rewatch it with me they have this revelation of "Wait this is pretty bad" somewhere within the first 20 minutes.
>>150317785It is a good movie. Only autists say otherwise.
>>150324252>the live action parts drag it down really fucking hardI mostly agree, but the basketball jones scene was kinohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkLdPld4C7U
>>150317785Nostalgia and Michael Jordan was the coolest person to walk this Earth in the 90s
>>150319800>>150322655Lola Bunny is barely in the movie. She has no plot relevance. You could entirely write her out and the plot would not change.
>>150324984>She has no plot relevance. You could entirely write her out and the plot would not change. What? She's the only one who could play. Just admit you seethe about furries.
>>150322655Lola may have been the final Multiversus character, but really think about what this means in the grand scheme. She got in over Scooby Doo, Ben 10, Robin, Starfire, The Flash, and a truckload of other characters that were pushed. This character is a fucking juggernaut.
>>150324984She's still what people remember about the movie.Lola, C'mon and Jam, and Fly like an Eagle.
>>150325001They brought in Michael Jordan to teach the Looney Tunes how to play basketball. Lola was not needed.
>>150325072Michael needed an extra player who could play. She literally helped them.
>>150317785>Never lost a final (6-0 CHAD)>Retired before the age of 40>Didn't need to get his kids a job >Made Basketball the most popular sport in America (It's not anymore)>Played against Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, and other legends and still never lost a finalJordan is the greasts Basketball player of all time. This film was amazing and a great tribute to him. Looney Tunes took a backseat and jobbed to aliens to make Jordan look good. Which is bad but also good because this was definitely more of a Jordan movie. It was definitely the better call. The other Looney Tunes movies focused more on the toons themselves and they werent nearly as good. MJ's acting was kinda stiff but in that charming way. Never took me out of the film. The little chi Jordan's getting brutalized was also funny and still looks pretty good today. I agree with the first post its a 7/10 film. I'd watch it over alot of other shit. The fat guy from Jurassic Park is also a good laugh. Wish he was in more films.
>>150317785Nostalgia glasses
>>150318187WB corporate was more interested in forcing the Looney Tunes into a Mickey and Friends mold instead of letting them be themselves.
>>150325172>Jordan is the greasts Basketball player of all time.Didn't Larry Bird with a bad back still school Jordan like a rookie?
