>>150327342You are confusing two separate events:It was in 1991 when GKChP (commies) have attempted the coup and tried to overthrow president Gorbachev and seize control of the country. Yeltsin and other pro-perestroika people had built barricades around The House of Soviets (aka White house) to defend it against GKChP that time. And the House of Soviets was shelled by tanks in 1993 during constitutional criris, not by commies actually, but by the Yeltsin's loyalist army, because it was seized by supporters of vice-president Rutskoy and the last of the Soviet council.
