It was like someone took the dull, borderline irritating anti-humor of a Family Circus comic, added a bunch of random pop culture references and puns, and stretched it to 22 minutes.I'm fine with pop culture references when they're not being used as a crutch for writing but The Great North did that in spades. It's like they all came out of a coma and are catching up with the world. And most of the time they're referencing shit just to reference it. It doesn't even feel ham fisted. It feels like playing a bad version of Madlibs. Doesn't help that it sounds like all the VAs except for Jenny Slate and Will Forte are there against their will/needing a paycheck.
