Did your package arrive from the "Fuck Diamond and JP Morgan" sale? What did you get? Got any pre-orders in?
>>150348883No.
>>150348883>Fuck DiamondIt seems to be working.>>150349341
>>150348883They haven’t even shipped it.
>>150348883Fuck Diamond but you know what? Fantagraphics too. Stuffy cunts.
>>150350459FPBP>>150348883Nigga you 100% bought a Popeye and Marvel reprint and told yourself you were supporting comics as an art form.
they didn't have any Garfield
>>150348883>the "Fuck Diamond and JP Morgan" sale?Shit, did I miss something?
>>150351567Fantagraphics and 30 other corporations might be liquidated by Diamond because they once agreed to do business together and didn't file properly. (I am not joking) So that JP Morgan and Chase Co don't lose profit on bankruptcy. Image agreed to liquidate a few things and retain to settle, which is the only other alternative but right now most of us are hopping that Diamond manages to kraken them and tentacle them into the abyss with them.
>>150351567Diamond went bankrupt while they were holding a lot of publishers’ (including Fantagraphics) comics on consignment, meaning Diamond had not yet paid the publishers for those comics and would when they received payment from retailers. That’s relatively standard practice in publishing.Upon bankruptcy, J.P. Morgan became the controllers of Diamond’s business dealings and started selling these books to pay off the company’s debts instead of paying the publishers, essentially just stealing them. This left Fantagraphics (and several other publishers who are all trying to sue Diamond and J.P. Morgan) in an understandably shit financial situation so they had a big 30% off sale to try and raise some capital. Diamond are now counter-suing all the publishers claiming they didn’t properly “secure their interest” in the books they were holding. Tl;dr - Banks are scummy and the legal system is a joke.
>>150351925>Fantagraphics and 30 other corporations might be liquidated by Diamond>company being liquidated by another companyStop speaking about business when you don’t even know what you’re talking about.
>>150348883>Got any pre-orders in?Currently got 13 of their upcoming Disney books on pre-order. But it's via a bookstore who don't charge until they ship. Are they actually in danger of going under or is it a meme? Cos they're this close to finishing the Carl Barks Library
>>150352689No, the internet enables Dunning Krugerism and I am going to use that right as I please damn it.
>>150352829>this closeHow close is that?
>>150348883I couldn't really partake in the sale but I've got the new Psychodrama Illustrated coming soon.
>>150352876Don't know exactly but probably 4-6 books
Yep, got my Popeyes. pretty neat design
Still haven't shipped. I got like 4 MM&O books and the fritz preorder. Sucks i couldn't get crisis zone too.
I got Nancy wears hats, pretty neat collection
>>150348883I bought my shit on the 25th and it's just now going to ship next week.
>>150348883I picked up The Cabbie and The Mad Ripoffs book.>>150350807Reprints are great, it's an affordable way to read cool stuff. Especially the Fantagraphics reprints I've bought since they retain the CMYK dot coloring. I was disgusted by the EC Archives reprint I got from (Dark Horse? Image?) since it had all been recolored with a nauseating and bland digital process.
>>150350807>Nooooo you can't buy reprints!!!You gotta buy the original moldy newspaper pages from 1929!!! Fake fan! Fake fan!Shut the fuck up.Also I got Psychodrama Illustrated and the entire Red Room in single issues.
>>150351991Diamond are and always have been cunts. Even now they're dead they are planning to continue being cunts.
>>150352829No they're not going under. The sale is literally to sue Diamond/JP Morgan and pay for attorney fees because D/JPM are holding millions of dollars worth of comics that they are liquidating to pay debts and none of thet money is going to Fantagraphics. Meaning Fanta sent books for Diamond to sell and distribute and they never paid them.
>>150354688>>150349736I think I ordered on the second day, or first night of the sale and they arrived about three days ago. Also I'm impressed by how well all the comics are wrapped, packed, and shipped. Amazon could learn a fucking lesson from them. Like I've never ordered a book from Amazon that didn't arrive scratched or with fucked corners. Even the single issue soft covers came in pristine.
