But that wont help you with something long term like a webcomic, or any kind of storytelling, for that matter. *Drive* is what keeps you at something like a creative endeavor. The will to see it through, no matter what, hell or high water be damned. Lemme be real for a second: the page from this comic that I've posted here was created, in full, 11 years ago now. The idea that germinated into that image popped into my head probably a good decade before that, if not more. And it's still from the only chapter we've ever produced so far, because life fucking happened right as we were starting up. I got hit with the second greatest heartbreak of my entire life which spiraled me headlong into a horrific depression that ive juuuuust now been able to crawl my way out of. And meanwhile, my art friend went home and became a damn family man and got himself a wife and kid. And you know what? We're still up and willing to keep at this. Its all about simply *wanting it to be*. Ive quite literally never went a day without plotting out some narrative point or character arc inside my head for twenty goddamn years now, and now that ive got my personal demons reined in finally we're getting back to work to make it an actual reality. If you dont have the drive, the need to create, to make something new, then you simply won't want to keep the fire lit and you'll move onto something else. If you want it, you'll chase it.
