Remind me why people were rallying for a CG/live action hybrid movie again
>>
>>150354728
Why are you in favor of scraping finished movies
>>
>>150354404
you mean to say 'cel-shaded CGI' not cel shading on its own
>>
>>150354728
looks funny enough

I’d be fine if this ends up being no better than Back in Action
>>
>>150354404
cel shading to me will always be synonymus with ps2 and ds shovelware
>>
>>150354404
traditional animation was cel-shaded
what are you talking about?
>>
Why can't movies be made on paper and cels anymore? They spend $200 million making animated movies nowadays just for them to flop. They can afford to try traditional animation again.
>>
>>150354830
he's being retarded and gen z and thinking cel shaded means cel shaded CGI.

this is that same old nonsense back when zelda 10 came out, and everyone's like "you don't like it because you don't like cel shading"
dude i love it. What i don't like is characters who look like grotesque western-cartoon abominations. I want anime zelda, not this.
but they just waddle off going BWAAHH CEL SHADING bwaahhh

there's zero reason to go back to physical media, it had no benefits whatsoever.
we just need to go back to hand-drawn media. the reason digital animation sucked is that the studios saw a huge opportunity to squeeze profit on the (now MUCH cheaper and quicker) process of animation by actually tightening the budgets. and in japan, because the new artists were not capable of learning from the old artists, who didn't know what a tablet is.

honestly soft shading woulda been better

>>150354899
if you go back and look at how much animated movies cost before the celebrity voice actor gimmick, it was literal peanuts
animated movie budgets exploded due to celebrities, executives skimming off the top, and advertising
>>
>>150354899
Too labor intensive and difficult to make changes on. Incompatible with the modern "Fuck it, make the movie in post-production and redo the whole thing a couple months before premiere if you have to" ethos of film production.

you can use digital tools and traditional techniques. Nothing about digital animation requires it too look like shit. IT just wipes out 99% of the labor, and everyone for got how hard it used to be. so they endeavored to wipe out 99% of the remaining labor and went too far.

Wow, we've finally discovered a way to automate the production of Fallout 1 and 2 talking heads. This will make lots of money, somehow.
>>
>>150354830
I think the dumbasses who say that shit just don’t actually like cartoons because otherwise he’d know that.

Do men even like cartoons? The way you guys talk about them reveals you know hardly anything.
>>
>>150354899
Too many nay sayers. Honestly.
If you had the money and pushed forward with an iron clad determination, you could get it done.
But alllll the fucking executives and producers and crew and populace would be pecking away at you the whole time.
"buh buh buh...why not digital?"
No. No. Shut the fuck up.
People did traditional animation for a century.
There's nothing actually, physically stopping you from doing it.
Dust off the old gear. Make some new stuff if you have to.

>here's zero reason to go back to physical media, it had no benefits whatsoever.
You literally get to own shit. There's no subscription bullshit

That's exactly MY point.

I posted the AI vid. I didnt delete it. I'm not embarassed by it. It looks really good. It also wasnt nsfw, and I'm apparently not banned so IDK wtf?
>>

Behold: The AI vids deemed TOO INTENSE FOR 4CHAN!
Both of these vids are SFW. They feature young adult females with very large covered breasts in an animated CGI style. One is in a blue leotard and jumping and smiling. The other is smoking and waving hello.

If that's something you don't want to see or aren't allowed to display on your current device. Do not click these links.
Is that enough disclaimer?
