Would you consider any of the new Ultimate Marvel comics to be cool? Not just intriguing/compelling, but specifically *cool*?
During the old Ultimate comics, you could tell that they were very intent on convincing you that they were cool (regardless of how good some of them ended up).

In general if not, what recent-ish comic would you describe as "cool"?

Ultimates and Spider-man are cool, but the latter lost steam as time went on. Black Panther and X-men starts boring, but they become better when their stories unfold.
Wolverine is bad.

What's wrong with Wolverine?

Its a shock value fest, nothing of substance beyond that.

None of these new Ultimate comics are cool.
Wolverine is probably the closest, but it's quite boring.
Absolute Batman tries to be cool, and some like it, but it's also very stupid.

The Ultimates is very uncool, since it's practically Antifa shit. Spider-Man milquetoast.

No, because they haven't done the line.

Jokes aside, no, not really.
The original, especially the Millar stuff, went out of its way to have scenes I think were meant to be read a couple ways. Younger readers would come across them and think
>Wow, this is awesome/hilarious!
Older comic book fans would come across the same scenes and think
>Wow, this is retarded... what happens next?
It's never supposed to be a seminal book on its characters, just taking the action figures and doing new things with them in a sandbox far away from the original. It's okay to break them, as long as it's in a cool explosion or whatever. Very hammy, very rule of cool, and very much remembered with varying degrees of fondness.
The new one, mostly by choice, doesn't have that same spark. You read it and get what's on the label. Characters can accomplish great feats, but they're very limited in what can actually be done with them. There will be very few pages people will post years from now that will elicit a
>Captain America said WHAT!?
For better or worse, they're too bound to the image of 616 and the month gimmick for stuff like that.

Nah, and they know it. Superheroes are cringe.
