>The year is 1138, and the immortal Demona and her now adult-aged adopted daughter Angelika have left the nomadic Viking life behind them in an effort to find some stability in a dangerous and uncertain world. The two living Gargoyles have settled down in the French city of Vyonne, where they can spend their days resting among the stone gargoyles of the cathedral.>But their rocky counterparts turn out to be less inert than they first appear, having been carved by a local magician who can animate them to do his bidding. Upon discovering the presence of Demona and Angelika, the warlock proposes an alliance to further each other's interests. But are the two Gargoyles equal partners in the arrangement - or unwitting accomplices?

Thanks for the storytime anonTbh this issue feels kinda pointless compared to the previous ones. There's no development for Demona or AngelikaNothing to tie back to modern day
>>150366031>There's no development for Demona or AngelikaFrankly, this series so far is very light on that. I was hoping for more meat in this regard.>Nothing to tie back to modern dayThe last name Reynard would suggest that Blaise is an ancestor of Fox. Since his son Martin is explicitly shown alive at the end. >>150365972I guess this issue is more of a setup for a future story concerning Fox's family. She might be in a more introspective mood following her father's passing.
>>150366031There's speculation that they gave Reynard a wife and a child (he's single in the original short story) to make him Halcyon Renard's ancestor, but I'm not sure that's the reason. I guess there's Demona and Angelika's increasingly different viewpoints on humans, but yeah, they're more passive compared to the other stories.
I like the use of the moon phases to establish time.
>>150365955Yet more Demona hypocrisy.
>>150369155
>>150369180
>>150366031I didn't mind that much since it's more of an anthology series with not much of an overarching story. It seems the biggest conflict we'll get will involve Demona refusing to accept Angelika aging and eventually dying.
