This is sentence is in character for Bruce but it isn’t true. Batman is essentially a good person, he would have caved under the pressure of his life long ago if he wasn’t. But a lot of the time he doesn’t feel like it. That’s why Bruce is thinking this sentence. I imagine most nights Bruce has moments of lamenting his failures from when he failed to save his parents (despite being a child) to Harvey Dent going insane, to failing to stop the original Red Hood from falling into a vat of acid, to Jason being blown up by the Joker. Batman has a lot of reasons to feel self loathing even if ultimately he’s an innocent man doing everything in his power to be a true hero.

>>150368102Just shrink multiple versions of yourself and beat the shit out of cancer cells bro
>>150368102Repostin from a F4 thread>As the smartest man in the world, Reed knows that curing cancer would be a societal disaster. Cancer isn't one disease, is a large umbrella of a condition that covers a million different ways that your body's self regulation of cell production can break down or go haywire. Curing one type of bone cancer doesn't help the other 11 types of bone cancer, or cancer of any other kind of organ in the body.>A general cure for cancers of all kinds would necessitate a level of generalized cellular renewal and repair that by necessity results in dramatic levels of life extension/youth that borders on immortality. Being able to fix that level of cell degradation to prevent cancers across the body would also work against aging as well.>The human race, with its current expansionist mindset and level of resources, cannot survive immortality being on the table. If people continue to be born but the rate at which people die has been driven to a fraction of what it was because old age and its related diseases are off the table, you run into a population crises at amazing speed. We would be forced to start exterminating each other by force because time no longer does it for us. Civilization as we understand it would collapse from external and internal conflicts: its not just about fighting other countries for more land, it turns into every generation knowing that they will never have wealth or land or opportunity so long as the older generations still exist, and those older generations can ONLY ever be removed by violent means because death will not come for them naturally.>Its literally better to just let death take its due and natural selection run its course. A cure for cancer/ immortality is great for the individual but terrible for the world.
