>>150381731Generational difference.The film, if I recall, recouped its losses through the DVD market since it was less anal than movie theaters where you just had to confirm your age in order to go see it; the adult crowd wasn't familiar and didn't like Green's humor, while kids and teens at the time (growing on a steady diet of Ren & Stimpy and EEnE) get it and loaned the movie on mass (if I recall, the guy who used to be blockbuster's CEO pretty much said that FgF and Grandma's Boy were the most-rented movies at the store).
