His whole general character is being an egotistical genius with a complex where if he isn't a god then he is pissed at that which closely resembles to it.
He is usually alright whenever his ego isn't taking the control and making him take really, really dumb decisions.
Its like if Gigachad turned into Mr. douchebag cranked to 11 just because some guy out there is better at something than him, and pisses him off.

It's a legacy of the time when the DCU was not a coherent setting and individual superheroes mostly kept to their own books. If you only read Superman and Action Comics during the Silver Age, you'd barely know other superheroes existed. DC should've ironed out the kink some time after COIE, but they never did.

My question is, why isn't he just a skilled and dangerous as Batman? For "reasons" Batman is better than him, and DC writers love to shit on him in the aspect. He too should embody the ideal of a peak human. A Doctor Doom, without the mask and theatrics.
