I was thinking we'd see something basic like Batman/Spider-Man again since that's free money, and a combo that makes sense. Instead, we get a matchup that's just... Why? I don't understand this choice was made. I don't think anyone was asking for Deadpool and Batman over all the other options. People wanted for over two decades, and instead of another free win like JLA/Avengers we get a meme book. I don't expect to be disappointed, because I no longer have any expectations. However, I know I don't care.

>>150378185Eh, Deadpool and Batman sort of make sense together, if you squint. The most obvious surface-level thing is that they're almost complete opposites, so there's a decent amount of potential for both conflict and humor. But I'm hoping the writer doesn't go the lazy route and have the whole story be ONLY fights and/or "Deadpool annoys the straight man" gags that have been done every other time DP has been in the same room as a serious character. I think they could have an interesting dynamic. Batman is used to dealing with the criminally insane, so I would I think he'd be immune to most of Deadpool's fuckery.

>>150378514I can see a loose idea. Batman and Deadpool team up to fight Deathstroke (since DC keeps treating him like a Batman antagonist instead of Titans). As they hunt him Deadpool gets a rapidfire tour of Gotham and makes META jokes about it. It is exactly as trite as you fear with the Batman straightman issue. They finally face Deathstroke and he makes endless brands friendly jokes about how it's the other guy who ripped them off and they're totally similar.

It surprises me that these two books doesn't have a story with Spider-Man, considering he is the friendly neighborhood who meets everyone.
Sinclair washing out Capullos pencils with his dated bland unimaginative colors. Dead on arrival, inert, ugly. The DC issue looks so much better by comparison.
