Does using a better artist for your comic book's cover count as false advertising?
Yes, it’s a totally normalized and accepted version of it in the comic book industry
Yep, got burned by it a couple of times when I was a teenager and started buying comics
>>150377837>better artistThat's usually arguable; a good cover artist is not the same as a good comic artist. They tend to specialize in flashier and more detailed art, which doesn't necessarily make for better comics. For example, I was kinda tricked into buying and reading Fables because of the amazing covers by James Jean, but the single Fables story (just a few pages long) that he actually illustrated displayed how he wasn't particularly great at it, being comparatively lacking when it came to compositional flow and paneling and expressive characterization compared to the usual interior artists who worked on the series.
>>150377837No, credits are on the cover.
>>150379097In the case of Cho it's true though; Liberty Meadows may have been dumb but so was PVP, and Cho's comic art was better than Kurtz's in every possible way.
