Whew. I'm really hoping that they keep Helluva Boss crossovers at a minimum going forward. Hazbin is a mess and far from the original premise that it was supposed to be. I mean, Helluva Boss is too, but I personally feel that despite its flaws, Helluva Boss is at least better written (despite being the same team), and I'm more invested in its story. Mostly because despite its flaws, Helluva is a lot lower stakes than Heaven vs. Hell. It's just two gay demons and their romance drama and the way their problems affect those around them. I'm all for the tragic character angle, because the fuck ups they do, and the writing puts them through, only affect them and not the entire setting. I remember reading somewhere that the original idea for Lucifer and Adam actually had it that Lucifer was more prideful, arrogant and antagonistic while it was Adam who was more sad and depressed (even sporting a "Beard of Sorrow"), being more of an apathetic but responsible authority figure. Sera notably didn't exist back then, so it seems he originally had Sera's role. Both he and Lucifer were described as being in a "eternal chess game", which would make sense for Charlie to come in and flip the table on them for.I'm sad we didn't get this version, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Viv's idea but one of the old writers who originally worked on the pilot days. Reminds me of how Dave Capidevelle actually came up with a lot of stuff for Alastor in the pilot (and even voiced his Microphone, to the point it was it's own character); only for pretty much all of that to be done away with and scrapped.

Why do people in these threads act like the whole point wasn't the irony in heaven being proactive and trigger happy with sinners being the whole reason Hell is primed and motivated to rise up in the first place?
