What the fuck is a Demon Slayer?serious answer, lets not jump to quick conclusions, anime movies in NA have a track record of derailing quickly after opening weekend. And even ignoring that, DS is not taking the traditional anime movie route, most anime movies are completely disconnected from both the manga and anime, which is why they usual only ever perform exceptionally well in Japan. DS's movies ARE THE manga adaptations, IT IS the adaptation of the final arc, it's a giant reason why it's breaking Japan's movie records (apart from their shit tastes), it's the reason why it's performing better than usual than other anime films outside of Japan. Thinking anything turned to anime equals profits get you flops like that LotR film last year. The one thing A:TLA does have going for it is that it technically isn't an anime :^)

There is scarcely a 2D production from the last decade that doesn't use 3D rendering in some major capacity.
