found this video the other dayhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iie427RzMRo&t=576sthe whole time i was trying to figure out if its a pisstake or not and that just made it all the more intriguingi think the part where he edits in the bird into marge's backstory kinda revealed it was all a joke but i love how he still never goes "haha jk" and just keeps it going in a dry sincere sorta humor
>>150408377I found this Spanish I Hate Fairyland theory that implies that Gert from the original run and Gert from the second run are different characters.https://youtu.be/PZ9UBClR2Ts?si=bqQW4QHozUhs_una
>>150408635i don't habla espeniaro, please QRD?
>>150408387> he still never goes "haha jk" and just keeps it going in a dry sincere sorta humorThat's my favorite style of ironic theory video and why I love skin theory, where they're clearly secure enough in the inherent silliness of what they're posting to give it a big genuine sounding performance instead of constantly winking and reminding the audience it's all tonguing asscheek
>>150408640>Original ending has Gertrude who is implied to be competent enough keep her position as an office worker>New Run starts with Gert being incapable of keeping a simple job>#26 & #27 reveal that there are alternate timelines>Gert's swears in the final issue of the comic to signify her moving on from Fairyland >In the second run she keeps uses the Fairyland swears to prove to her therapist that Fairyland exists, but the therapist assumes this is just a security blanket thing implying that she is still affected from Fairyland's trauma
I saw a theory video recently that implied that Patrick from SpongeBob was once a superhero who gave up his powers to have a normal life, because whenever he has power he always ends up misusing it. I thought it was pretty cool, because the idea of an easily corruptible but ultimately good person who immediately lets power go to his head but always gives up his powers when he realizes he's becoming a piece of shit is weirdly nuanced.
>>150409308Post it, sounds interestingThe idea CAN be nuanced but usually it's done in a very shallow obnoxious way, I tend to hate the "good guy goes evil with power" trope, and Spongebob is not exactly an example of that being done in a way that's complex
that video in the OP looked really interesting until I watched it, turns out it's just one guy overanalyzing a running gag and I'm pretty sure the video is supposed to be ironic anyways
>>150409308>>150409397Well the theory was that he was an ex supervillainhttps://youtu.be/W50UKA-strs?si=efuDZcEuhjpcoPr7
>>150409417Yes? That's literally the humor in it?What the fuck did you think it could possibly be
>>150408377Barely a theory but I like the notion that the Ed's from Ed Edd and Eddy are friends because they're all the most abused and neglected kids in the cul-de-sac
Fuck this thread but fuck this guy >>150409587 the most Like shut the fuck up retards crawl back to the youtube comment section
>>150409620I have a theory that your parents don't love you
>>150409587this is the worst theory ever and is edgy 2000s 2deep4u fanfic tier garbage
>>150409686>edgy 2000s 2deep4u fanfic tier garbagedude, you realize it's pretty much canon, right? have you ever watched the show? it's regularly implied they're friends because everyone else hates them
>>150409809They pitch bible stated they were only friends because they shared the same name. It was also what got them greenlit.
>>150409867firstly, yes, that's true too, but it's clearly not the only reason, it's the main reason but there's also the fact that nobody likes them all that muchsecondly, pitch bibles are just the big ideas, not the small stuff that ends up making it in
>>150409867>>150409934Them being friends because nobody else likes them is so obvious and plausible that it's only called a theory because it's never downright statedIt's like how we call Darwin's theory of evolution a theory because we can't replicate and prove it but we're 99.9% convinced it works
>>150408593Thanks, /pol/
>>150411349>/pol/I can't tell if weird bait or just a tourist but... Either way, mucho retardo
Here's a personal one. I think other people thought about it but I genuinely want to flesh it out.I have reason to believe that 1990s Buster Bunny from TTA grew up to become the Bugs Bunny from 2011's "The Looney Tunes Show" (and Tiny Toons Looniversity)Not only that, but "Bugs Bunny" is an endless moniker that each Buster would inevitably wear(Which is why Daffy would occasionally call Bugs "Buster" in the 1950s).
>>150411905kek anon, this is dumb but fuck it, i'll buy italso "buster" is just one of those words you'd refer to someone as if you're trying to talk smack, like "listen here chump", it doesn't need to be a name
>>150411946Yeah, it doesn't really work with 50s Bugs.
My personal headcanon for why Collective Man was so out of character in that X-Men run where he was attempting to become a crime boss was due to some off-panel shenanigans his team had to clean up (typical brainwashing/moral inversion stuff)Basically an extension for why he's so fucking pissed at American heroes next time he showed up for people thinking New York is the center of the world and not recognizing something was up
>>150409686No that's the shitty "The kids of the cul-de-sac are all dead" one that doesn't even get the decades for the kids right.
>>150408377>>150408593
>>150408377I like the suggestion that Courage the Cowardly Dog is as strange and paranoiac as it is because we're viewing it from the lens of Courage, a dog, who doesn't have human context of the world around him.
>>150412717I think that theory works better for Dexter's Lab and that Dexter's just an autistic nerd who gets teased by Dee Dee while he pretends to be a scientist in his roomDo people think going on the internet is normal dog behavior?
>>150412906Yeah, the computer bit stumped me too. It definitely makes a ton of sense for Dexter though:>Most of the show is largely domestic while the lab is just occasionally used>The countless "bad endings" of the show can be chalked up to nightmares or anxieties>Despite being a "genius," Dexter is unknowledgable about things like dirt and gas
