Why didn’t Looney Tunes Cartoons use Lola?
Not a classic character
>>150411785They did. In more recent material.
Everyone forgets that Lola was a boss both archetype. She showed up and before we learned her name we learned she is "le better" than all the men. The next thing we learn is she becomes hysterically violent if anyone compliments her.
Why didn't LTC do anything besides make some very basic pastiche of 70-80 year old shorts? Like they didn't invent any new characters or ideas of their own at all.
>>150411843>she is "le better" than all the menNot better than Michael. And they had Grandma there who was shit.
>>150411843She's hot so who cares.
>>150411785Because they had no idea what to do with her. Nobody does cause Lola isn't funny.>Not a golden age characterIf that was the case, we would've gotten a Honey Bunny cartoon. Hell, even in the awful Tiny Toons reboot, they didn't even want Lola but only used her cause some retard wouldn't let them use Pepe.
>>150411854They didn't say she was better than Micheal but he clearly couldn't move like her being he's a real human being.
>>150411994He said all the men. Read better.
>>150411947Drop the basketball but they should have kept her as an athlete. She could have been having funny sports themed misadventures
>>150412001Kill yourself. I'm the one made the post. She came in, was a female, and outclassed everyone at basketball. Of course Michael Jordan was sacred and couldn't be toppled, but to even say she was his equal broke the formula. She existed to be the toon ringer. They made her a girl and they made her violent to make a feminist statement.
>>150412057Your premise is flawed. Michael is a man and we know he's better than Lola so your post is fucking stupid.
>>150411852They were probably tired of people mainly only using Chuck Jones era influence
>>150412008>Drop the basketball but they should have kept her as an athlete. That's what the Tiny Toons reboot (and the later Looney Tunes Comics) did. She's great at sports but also does stereotypical 90's stuff like riding in on a skateboard cuz XTREME BRAH!https://youtu.be/SDtj_jFDDi0?si=M3yCJsvCObaOrNMBNone of it was funny tho. That remains the issue with her. Just being good at stuff isn't funny.
>>150411843>boss both archetype What ESL tacolocofresco jabber is this?
>>150411843She plays basketball better than them, because she plays basketball, unlike the other Looney Tunes that don't.She isn't better than them always in every way and every aspect like the modern girlboss.
>>150411800If they took out Pepe they should have just added in Lola with a more classic looking redesign. Maybe they could have made a definitive version of her that fits in more with the aesthetics of the other LT characters. As it stands now, aside from TLTS she’s stuck in the 90s cool “A hot feminine GIRL beat the BOYS?!??!” look and personality
>>150411843True honestly. I know that Space Jam is from an era right after the time when most people had little standards or expectations for animation, and therefore anything spicier than Hanna-Barbera talking heads was cool and fun. But then at the same time I remember that in the 1950's Disney made Tinker Bell, this bitchy snob who's both really funny and sexy while being completely mute. And then I just think there's nothing really boundary pushing about Lola. Lola is fine and entertaining for this one specific point in time, but that's really it.
>>150411947Modern Looney Tunes writers can't make a funny Lola cartoon without rewriting her entirely. She is defined solely through attractiveness and competency, she has no obvious character flaws. The best you could do is make her witty and pair her up with a funny foil (like Chuck Jones' Bugs) but that would just make her a gender-swapped Bugs Bunny. An easy cheat would just be to give the personality of Babs Bunny to Lola. The way I would do it is by casting Lola in traditionally female roles: Bugs didn't have "domestic" cartoons like Daffy and Porky did during the original run, so that could always be an opportunity to do something new. Cartoons where Lola is a demanding housewife, a murderous lady in red, a snarky damsel-in-distress, a cheeky fitness instructor, etc. All roles that could contribute to funny scenarios without extensive personality rewrites.
>>150411829This.OP is underage.
>>150412300Mexican here. It's not an ESL thing, anon probably just made a typo.
>>150411785Why did they make lola so sexual in this movie, i remember being very uncomfortable when she walked in because it felt like i wasn't allowed to see that.
>>150414429Classic female toon characters were always sexual
Apparently a lot of people ITT didn't notice OP was talking about the 2020 reboot. It's the only Looney Tunes show from the past twenty years that Lola didn't appear in.
>>150414525Wasn't that a reboot of the original, so Lola wouldn't be in it? It's only using the classic characters of the original.
>>150414525>a lot of people ITT didn't notice OP was talking about the 2020 reboot1. I forgot it existed.2. I forgot how it was called.3. It's easy to assume OP meant Looney Tunes cartoons in general.
>>150411947LTS did her perfectly and everyone loves her in that show. They should make that her characterization
>>150414962See >>150414525.
>>150415040Dang, I was too slow too.
>>150414491I don't remember a single character from that era that was so intentionally sexual, sure there were characters that were sexual but not nearly as much as lola.
>>150414429I'm glad I wasn't the only kid that felt that way when I saw sexy things on screen
>>150411785They did?
>>150411843That's why TLTS Lola will always be better and it's not up to discussion
>>150411785She's been in nearly every LT series since SJ, including Baby Looney Tunes.
>>150415387Why did you ignore the example in the image?>>150415608It sounds like you were very repressed.
>>150414429You're a pussy
>>150417260That's nowhere near as sexual as lola, again yes there were sexual characters but they went overboard with lola.
