>Universe is destroyed during the Crisis on Infinite Earth trilogyWHY THOUGH
This is such a non issue.
>>150427524It's kind of beautiful this is the last time Kevin Conroy voiced Batman thoughhttps://youtu.be/HXwasqGBBNA?feature=shared
>>150427539It's crazy how the animation in this using modern digital tools that should make animation easier looks so much worse than something from 35 years prior.
>>150427646And yet, because it's following the Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski art direction from BtAS, it STILL looks a thousand times better than the shit designed from the ground up for digital animation tools.
>>150427671Yeah I almost pointed out how even though the animation is rough the aesthetic still looks great. It's kind of insane how digital animation in theory should put stuff from past eras to shame but instead just seems to hold the whole medium back.
>>150427524>DC multiverse stories focus on the destruction of everything you care about>Marvel multiverse stories focus on the characters
>>150427706Digital animation is superior in a vacuum, but in the real world, money is king and companies care more about using digital to cut costs.
>>150427847WB forgot that Crisis on Infinite Earths was a hail mary move borne from sluggish sales and a need to untangle decades of ratty continuity. It should have never been their go to "we need a big event" story because it revolves around everything fucking dying
>>150427539I didn't understand why this was dedicated to him, when they destroy his world
>>150427974Because it's literally the last time he voiced Batman. Hell, Conroy was probably already bedridden and on chemo when they asked him to do this, and he did.
>>150427937It's pretty epic, where shit actually happens, beloved characters die and actually stay dead. It's probably the only time I've read an event where I actually thought shit might actually be too fucked for the heroes to solve it
>>150427524I never actually got this far and I'm happy about that. Part one was painfully bad.
>>150427994Would've been nice if they didn't destroy his world or something though.
>>150428006>BTAS Bruce has been in the shadows the entire trilogy>Joker is about to undo everything, only for BTAS Bruce saving everyone & everything.
>>150428071kek
>>150427524Because there is no DCAU without Kevin Conroy.
>>150428089
>>150427524>>150427974>>150428006I find it weird people can't two and two together, they likely made the scenario so Kevin would have one last credit in a current work, but knew he couldn't do it indefinitely so they made sure to retire his character as well so no one else would need to step in to finish a plot thread had they made that Batman more involved. It's clumsy, but it's pretty obvious.
>>150428142The respectful thing would've been for him to walk into the new Universe with the rest of the previous heroes, not being erased like 90 seconds before everyone else is saved & combined into something new.
>>150428142Exactly, that's also why Mark Hamill did it, knowing that it would be Kevin's last time.
>>150428156Things end, try not to fill your diapers over it.
>>150428175>Things end
>Universe is destroyedJust so you know, that's a work of fiction. If WBD ever thinks they can make money with new material set in this universe, they will.
>>150428882Yeah, so it's meaningless and insulting
>>150427524>WHY THOUGHBecause this was the last onscreen version of a Batman who although he was serious was not also a complete sociopathic loner, so it had to be excised.
>>150427524They actually didn't, watch it again...
>>150428988>His shit is destroyed>5 minutes later, everyone else is saved
>>150427537This. Oh no, this fictional universe doesn't "exist" anymore! Anyway...
>>150427524>the justice friends world, the DCAU and the 2003 TT universe were destroyed>the Teen titans go earth is fine because the retarded titans are too much for the antimonitorPowerful
>>150427539>I care, Joker. About Gotham, about Justice.>And if it has to end, at least I go out like this... being BATMAN!I'm gonna be honest, that's an awesome ender.
>>150429413A better ender than Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League would have been. At least this way, Conroy's Batman goes out with his dignity intact.
>>150427524>>150429409Does anyone even take this shit seriously? This is "Deadpool Kills Marvel" levels of stupid but without the entertaining factor involved.
>>150427646they got modern tools but a massively decreased budget
>>150427524Because retards were hoping you'd remember the thing from years ago and get a tinge of nostalgia over the forced sentimentality
>>150429413No it's not because it fundamentally misunderstands the point of not just Batman but super heroes in general. Because the super heroes would find a way to stop it. Calling this powerful is asinine.
>>150427524It's can be the true DCAU because the entire Tomorrowverse multiverse only exists because Constantine killed Baby Darkseid and everything spiraled from there.Darkseid is a pretty important part of that universe.
>>150431486*It can't
>>150427524>Killed only the universes without Darkseid>Show several universes with Darkseid being destroyedThose are just cameos and it isn't like it mattered. All of this because they messed up Flashpoint: Paradox.
52verse or Tomorrowverse?Personally I enjoyed the former more except for the JL Dark movies including the finale, although they had a pretty sketchy timeline at times.
>>150427539>this is the last time Kevin Conroy voiced BatmanThank God, I thought it was Suicide Squad: Kill Rocksteady.
>>150430337Exactly. If there is another animated movie universe or something I wouldn't put it past them to show these universes again just fine like nothing happened.
>>150431648Like the anon above mentioned, I'm almost sure they wrote this in because they knew Conroy was on death's door and the DC Animation team wanted to give him a proper send-off, that's why Mark Hamill recorded Joker later (and was accidentally left off the physical release), it happened so quickly they just wanted to make sure they got Conroy's recording before he was gone.
>>150427524Not canon. There's a lot of issues with it's depiction in that movie alone that makes it not line up with the DCAU/Timmverse.
>>150431601The 52verse had better animation quality but that's not saying much. It couldn't commit to being faithful to either it's New 52 or Pre-Flashpoint stories though.
>>150431732Think it's just cause the movie still doesn't have that many weeks, but i'm sure we'll get more poc characters soon enough
>>150427524I simply choose to ignore it.
It doesn't matter, any attempt at filing adaptations into a cohesive multiverse will fail. Companies won't stop making new DC cartoons because one singular movie decided there's only supposed to be 52 cartoon universes.
>>150427524So would it apply to the universe within the DCAU? The Brave New Metropolis, Justice Lords and Justice Guild ones?
>>150427524Because
>>150427937>>It should have never been their go to "we need a big event" story because it revolves around everything fucking dyingWhy not use the other Crises?
>>150431648Either way, his last role ended with the character he played being killed, even if SS later said "No, it was clones."
>>150427875>money is king and companies care more about using digital to cut costsSums it up.
>>150427539I feel like there are a hundred "final performances" of Kevin Conroy as Batman.
>>150427706that's because digital animation became commercialized too soon for that brief period of genuine artistry between its creation and its soulless adoption by corporations to last long enough to make any noticeable impact. Hollywood CGI had a decade or two before it reached that stage, but that was memorable and it's why people look back fondly on CGI like in Pirates of the Caribbean now and understand that things went wrong in the present era.
>>150432213I think you hit the wrong reply.
