They can keep the main show going all they want, but they could also make a spin-off on the side called “SpongeBob SquarePants: Classic Edition”. This hypothetical spin-off will>look and feel exactly like Season 2 & 3>have the same sort of stories and jokes told the same way>the voice actors and animators will be asked to mimic their work from back then>have them be storyboarded in the same room as in 1999-2002 if they have to>it’ll be accurate down to using the same animation software, background music and a 4:3 aspect ratioJust make another 60 half-hours exactly like that and people will like it? What’s the problem?
>>150432044I prefer if it looked and felt exactly like season 1
>>150432044If other reboots of 90s and 2000s cartoons are anything to go by, It will be praised for a week and then be forgotten about. Online critics making videos shitting on nu-spongebob gives Nick more revenue, especially since they have sites like Youtube by the balls. Creating a second pre-movie era would just seem pointless in the long run due to how short attention spans are and that it probably wouldn’t make much money
>>150432044They aren't capable of making good episodes.
Everything you suggested would be extremely hard for them to do. Why don't they just mimic the show's production pipeline from twenty years ago? Why don't they just write funny jokes? Why don't the voice actors just de-age?
They literally just made a time travel episode where they try to re create the artstyle of s1.
>>150432044>mimic a probably outdated production pipeline>tell stories that are already told>ask the voice actors to reverse 20 years of aging>have them storyboarded in a specific room for some fucking reason>use outdated animation software and music you've already heard a hundred timesThis would suck so fucking much. At best it would be a lame imitation, at worst it would be a cynical mockery.
>>150432044Why don't they just put this zombie cartoon out of it's misery? It'd be much cheaper.
>>150432253Even that episode wasn’t a perfect replication of the season one artstyle, the staging has all the characters viewed from flat horizontal angles like any other modern cartoons these days and the classic characters make faces that look more like new episode faces than classic ones. They did a better job at replicating that style with A Fish Called Sandy, makes me wish they’ll make more modern episodes that look like that, Timeline Twist Up looks kinda half assed in comparison.
>>150432044you have to be 18 to post here
>>150432044>>150432093You are a slave to public school which was designed to produce uncreative laborers. Creativity can't be the same now as it was 20 years ago - do you want the artists to reverse getting married and shit too. Enjoy new things instead of seeking to replicate the past.
>>150433414then artists should be making new stuff that's actually good
>>150433445To be fair modern SpongeBobs expressive animation does look pretty good for modern cartoon standards, even if I don’t feel like its the most fitting style for the show, every other kids show on right now is cheap calarts shit
That's like asking>Why the fuck can't you just give all your money to the poor and let every person on the street rape you?Animation like in season 1-3 is way more expensive than modern shit. Why the fuck would they spend shartillions of $ for no fucking reason?
>>150433757That is the worst comparison you could have made. The show has been animated using the same techniques since season 2.
>>150433778>The show has been animated using the same techniques since season 2.LMAO is this trolling?
>>150433790Maybe I used the wrong words, but the show has been drawn on paper and colored digitally since season 2. I'm not sure how much more expensive the animation for seasons 2-3 could have been compared to the new episodes where the characters barely stand still.
>>150432044>why don't they just make good cartoons?I dunno anon.>>150432093This.>>150433414>do you want the artists to reverse getting married and shit too.I think Stephen would appreciate not being dead.>Enjoy new thingsNew things aren't enjoyable. What's wrong with replicating what worked?
>>150433757>the old way of doing things is too expensiveThen how did they afford to do it in the past?>that's why we need to do it the cheap wayIs that unspent money going anywhere else to make the cartoon better?>noThen why would I support cheaper cartoons?
