The reboot sucked, but thankfully picked up about halfway through and got pretty good, but I'm still salty they split everyone up and refused to bring back Ghandi (who CARES what a bunch of Hindus think?) The show should have been Abe, Joan, and Ghandi hanging out and they should've made more of an effort to make things feel like an organic continuation of Season 1 instead of the whole: "IT'S A WOKE REBOOT, Y'ALL!" thing they did for a majority of it.Also, dumb they recast Cleo. Like, I'm glad they made a new character for the VA but shows really need to stick to their guns. It's incredibly frustrating that the era of rebooting cool old shows everyone wanted more of will forever be plagued by woke nonsense that ruined them all and by the time we get passed that the reboots will probably also be over with.
This reboot crushed me more than any other show ever has. Loved the original and never in a million years did I think it would come back. Once it finally did, I was ecstatic, then I watched it and it was utter shit. I try to forget that it ever happened because it legitimately ruined everything great about the original season. Now every time I think to even get slightly excited about a reboot/revival, I remember this pile of shit and then lower my expectations.

It takes the piss of what it satirizes and combines it with cartoon antics.If you remove that parody element by making it sincere, you have a shitty, non-sensical teen drama which is also a dumb cartoon.Watching especially that first rebooted season made me feel more infantile than if I were watching a show for actual babies. They made it work better in their second go around, but it was already too late.For the show to have worked it needed to either continue entirely with the original spirit of the show, or veered wildly into being a fully serious and genuine teen drama.The latter would be really fucking funny. If I were reviving the show I'd make it a live action romance drama played 100% seriously.

Can we also admit that the original show wasn't all that great either? Like it was good. But sometimes hit or miss. The christmas episode and the pilot were particularly duds.Also it's weird to me how much more they leaned on the premise of them being clones instead of history-based gags.
