It still blows my mind that Ross was painting Kingdom Come at 25(and Marvels at 23-24). I know it's not out of the ordinary to have artists at that level at those ages, but something about Ross' work had a maturity that exceeds his years.

>>150436501Have you ever actually seen his process? His photos look nothing like his final work. The models he uses don't have superhero bodies. He uses it more as a jumping point for lighting and cloth folds, but a lot of it is still his own imagination. And he builds models for faces as he needs since his photo models don't have the faces he uses either. Plus his photo references are mainly for his finished work. He does his designs and plans without reference.
