>Follows up on the What If…? cliffhanger with Spider-Man, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Thor, Rocket and Groot fighting zombie Thanos in Wakanda. Thanos kills Rocket and Groot and leaves Thor in a coma before Black Panther tackles him into a Vibranium turbine, which shreds them both and scatters the Infinity Stones around the world. The sorcerers of Kamar-Taj rescue Spider-Man, Ant-Man and the Hulk.
>Main plot is about a group of survivors including Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, Yelena Belova, Red Guardian and Moon Blade attempting to collect the stones to undo the zombie apocalypse. Shang-Chi is infected but uses the Ten Rings to keep it at bay.
>Wanda is the Red Queen who commands the zombie horde, and the virus is actually a fragment of the Darkhold that escaped into the Quantum Realm when Earth-616 Wanda destroyed all copies of it across the Multiverse.
>Ms. Marvel carries the stones because her constructs prevent the zombies from biting her.
>The heroes encounter other groups of survivors including Black Widows, Skrulls and Baron Zemo’s settlement in the Raft, which is destroyed by zombie Namor.
>It all leads to a massive battle between the survivors and the zombies in New Asgard. At one point, Wanda summons zombie Captain Marvel, but she gets wrecked by Ikaris, who has been infected but can resist Wanda’s influence due to his Eternal physiology.
>Hulk gets powered up by the stones, but Wanda kills him and steals his power. When all hope seems lost, Thor awakens from his coma and defeats Wanda.
>The final scene reveal Wanda’s defeat was an illusion she cast to trick Ms. Marvel into lowering her guard so she could get infected.
>The fates of the others are left uncertain, but they have most likely been zombified, with the only confirmed survivors being Yelena and Red Guardian who had earlier linked up with the Black Widows.
>>
>Everyone dies.

What's the point?
>>
>Wanda makes everything worse for everyone
>Again
Remind me why she’s considered a hero again?

The fuck? What If? was genuinely fucking excellent.

What about Spider-Man?
>>
>>150444263
I keep forgetting how all MCUtards have shit taste and love eating up slop.
>>
>>150444562
It's literally the closest thing to the comics we've gotten in the MCU.
>>
>>150445021
Lol.
It's the exact same slop the rest of MCU, just somehow even more boring.
>>
>>150445049
I can tell you haven't even touched a single comic in your entire life.
>>
>>150445068
I can tell you're a fucking tasteless retard shill trying to justify a shitty show because "muh comics".
>>
>>150445079
Called it
>>
>>150445131
>c-c-called it
Yeah, yeah, shill. Anybody who rightfully acknowledges your awful MCU garbage is garbage has "never read comics".
Now take your meds already, because you're most certainly not fooling anybody and definitely not fitting in.

>>150444352
>disappears at the start
>main threat is the Darkhold
he's probably training off-screen

>If I just bring up the vague notion of 'comics' and tie them to a cheap, low quality spin off of a collection of spin off comics, I can tie my shit taste in with good comics and make him look like he's no right to judge me!
>It's brilliant
Which comics have you read? I'll bet their as bad as you're taste in TV faggot

I'll actually make a little bit of effort beyond slinging shit like a monkey, if only to see this faggot twist himself into a pretzel. I obviously don't expect him to respond in kind and at best I'll get "seethe" and "tl;dr", but whatever.
My first What If was pic related. It wasn't a particularly interesting one writing-wise, no offense to Claremont, but it wasn't bad either and had a genuinely intriguing idea behind it. Guess it being one and done instead of at least a mini-series didn't give Claremont much room to properly flesh things out. From then I've tried the earlier What If books (mostly from the 80s-90s), and realized that a lot of the ones I really liked had pretty bleak and grim endings that hammered it down your skull that what actually happened was the best possible outcome (Spider-Man marrying Felicia, Barbara Ketch being Ghost Rider, What If Hulk went on a killing spree to name a few) or simply have interesting concepts behind them like the one I mentioned above
And the show doesn't succeed at either.
It can't really do anything emotional because like the rest of MCU it's too mired in irony and cringe comedy. The closest What If the series ever came to that kind of emotion are Doctor Strange and the second Captain Carter episodes. The rest trying bad endings is just vague "le Thanos is coming" that isn't really emotional in the slightest.
And even when it comes to comedy, it feels like decades of all the awful quips in Marvel movies are condensed into an half and hour series.
But when a work should be comedic like Marvel Zombies which was a very dark comedy with talking psychopathic flesh-eaters as "protagonists" that could've worked with a bit more effort beyond "zombies go grrr", but there I go, expecting MCU writers to read comics so they could learn to create something that isn't horribly generic.

The concepts are not much better either, even as far as MCU goes there's a lot to explore that has potential to be interesting and doesn't come off as writers randomly generating shit.
>Uhh, what if Captain America was... a woman
>what if T'Challa was such a gary stu, he talk-no-jutsu'd Thanos into being a good guy off-screen
>what if Thor was a generic fratbro with all the awful 2000s comedy cliches involved isn't that FUNNEHHHHH?????
etc etc. The show doesn't really explore anything interesting. The writers have no real ideas, no real concepts beyond playing with toys. Punisher or Flash Thompson becoming Spider-Man is interesting from a characterization standpoint because those comics explore just how different these characters truly are in as much detail as 30 pages could allow, the show's "what if X character was Y character" is shallow "I recognize that reference and I clap" crap for soifaggots and every character pretty much talks and acts the same.
In a way the faggot is right that it feels like a comic, he just conveniently omits mentioning that it feels like a modern comic written by somebody like Slott or Rainbow Rowell or some other modern-day "talent" Marvel keeps around for no reason other than because they can stick to deadlines or because they suck dick really good And we all know Slott is too lazy to stick to deadlines
>>
>>150445507
How dare you compare me to a pretzel.
>>
>>150442704
I loathe What If but I'll only wtach it for Elizabeth Olsen and only her scenes.
>>
>>150445507
>>150445512
Thanks, based anon.
>>
>hey guyze isn't scarlet witch the coolest???
Not even Captain Marvel felt this astroturfed when they initially put her in the movies, in fact she mever felt astroturfed at all cause everything she's done after her introductory movie is job, job and job like a champ, trailers for this shit showing that she got zombiefied off-screen don't help matters either
>>
>>150445786
Funny thing is, she was well-liked unlike Captain Marvel. I'll even say that her nearly killing Thanos was a far more earned "girl power" moment than Endgame's actual intended girl power moment.
Then Feige and co thought House of M/Disassembled are the direction where her character should be heading and ruined her in the eyes of people.
I assume this is a backhanded apology a la "s-see, she's insanely powerful, please like her again" because modern writers think you can only like a female superhero is she's the bestest and strongest.
>>
>>150445811
*if
>>
>>150442704
I said it before and I'll say it again: there's nothing interesting about superheroes becoming basic zombies. When you boil it down to its simplest parts, it's basically just
>what if 99% of the world died, and were replaced with mooks walking around, some of which have "stolen" powers
That doesn't make for an interesting threat, nor provide an avenue to put characters in interesting situations. It's only about seeing them mow down a billion mooks, which is like, wow, who cares.

As edgy and over the top as the original Marvel Zombies was, it used much more fitting areas of the greater zombie mythos for its story. Less Romero, more Russo.
>>
>>150445811
>she was well-liked unlike Captain Marvel
Liked by retards. Everything she did was wrong. Everything since Avengers 2.
>>
>>150445887
I mean, that's exactly how I feel about Jessica Jones but for some reason people like her as well, so that's a moot point.
>>
>>150443216
that's usually how Marvel Zombies goes anyway

and then the zombies regain consciousness
>>
>>150442704
>The final scene reveal Wanda’s defeat was an illusion she cast to trick Ms. Marvel into lowering her guard so she could get infected.
