Why was this pilot's artstyle so good and why hasn't it been stolen it yet?
You can't steal an art styleUnless you're AI, that is
I wish it got greenlit. Would've been a top tier "fall asleep while leaving the TV on in the background" show. Pilot was comfy.
Downtown
>>150445669I'd say Clerks is pretty close to it. And there's other shows that came out around that time that have similar styles.
>pilot's artstyleIT'S LITERALLY THE SAME ARTSTYLE AS THE FUCKING COMIC YOU FUCKING RETARD
>>150445686>Bill and Josh screaming racial slurs at each other is comfyOk.
>>150445669Eltingville's use of shading set it apart from the rest big time. That + the animation for the pilot also happens to be the reason why it got axed for being too expensive, so yeah maybe it was a bit too good I guess.
>>150445708Not really no.
I cant believe Big Bang Theory initially took this concept, made it worse, then got bored of the concept it fucking stole from and gave all the incel nerds GF's because women were complaining how there wasnt enough relationship drama about how there are 4 doofuses who make consumerism their entire identityEltingville would never work because its a legal blackhole. In the timeframe it came out previously, there was less stigma over what company owned what brand and if you made a modern version of it you'd have to tone down the obsessionalism of their hobby obsessions or change it so it cant directly reference real life IP's. Their obsessions would have to make sense in universe and by then why would you even watch a show like that?Nothing about this works as a show.
>>150445669Dude, this artstyle was everywhere in SLG comics
>>150445733Good thing we're talking about shows here
>>150445714The animation was handled by Tama Production. Was it really that expensive?
>>150445853Definitely felt expensive for a adult swim 2002 pilot. Market wasn't ready for that kind of quality.
>>150445685Why do you think that
>>150445853For 2002 Adult Swim? yes. Their budget was incredibly thin back then.
>>150445669Looks like Token
>>150445713Yes
>>150445713Unironically yes.
>>150445742Then the op should've said "why hasn't a show stolen it"
