>>150448979/co/ will never admit but this book has been enjoyable
>>150448960DC really went and spoiled this whole fucking arc.
>>150449363And this bulllshit will run until fucking March

>>150449323After how ridiculous Absolute Bane ended up being (I'm enjoying it but it's really dumb) I wouldn't be surprised if Joker could transform into a monster or something

>>150449391>Luthor vs Off-Model Big Barda? It's more than likely Etrigan's hand, so Luthor at least wins round 1 against Black Lightning
>>150448954>criminal>crime>criminals>all in a single sentenceJesus Christ, why do people even read mainline Batman anymore? >MUH STREETZ>MUH GOT HAM>MUH CRIMEHe's a supergenius billionaire (whoops, now millionaire because even fantasies for kids have to adhere to [current day] politics) and all he does is run around a single goddamn city punching the same people over and over. And over. And over again. That's it. How many bloody stories of Batman versus the Not!Mob can one person read? Oooohhh I wonder what this AI Bull/Deer Head guy with lots of fingers is going to do with GOTHAM'S CRIMINAL WORLD now?! And boy, is that TIM DRAKE with him?! And ANARKY?! THE ANARKY?! Jeez Fraction, all those goodies just cannot be contained! And they're asking for 5$ for this book? When #1 was a literal nothingburger? What is even going on here?Say what you will about Absolute here >>150448895 >>150448905 because it is retarded, very much so. It's literally retarded, no irony here. It's Bane, drawn like he's a literal giant from some myth, punching people so hard they become monsters, and on top of that it's all played straight. That's not even a parody, it's absurdity. HOWEVER, it's at least doing something different by committing to >Batman>but horror It's a dumb Resident Evil fanfic with Batman thrown in there. And hey, it works. It's at least entertaining. You put down 5$, and you get Batman in different locales battling crazy monsters. It's far more stupid than it thinks it is, but there is a bang for your buck to it. What do you get in the mainline BatBook? >muh crime in GothamWow, riveting stuff, we've never had that before... And on top of that you've got the leftovers from the awful Zdarsky run, like Vandal Savage as a goddamn Police Commissioner, Batman as a Millionaire and this retarded faux-cyberpunk filter that's so minimal it can't even be called a full aesthetic, just sugarcoating. There's literally 0 imagination to it, it's like an AI written book.
>>150449795Honestly, I'm done with "main canon" Big 2 books. I'll stick with Absolute, Ultimate and Indies. None of it matters anymore. Marvel did a nearly year long Doom as SS book only for it to not matter as they're already shilling the next SS until DS3 in 2 or so years hits and they need synergy. So fuck them. X-Men continues being trash. DC has virtually no continuity mattering anymore. I read the solicits every month and expecting something to happen, but it's all dull soap opera reiterating reheated stories from the past 20-30 years. Nothing stands out. The prices keep rising yet everything else follows a downwards slope. There are no new writers worth anything. When Jed McKay, the very definition of journeyman writer for comics. Even "darlings" like Ewing as just running on fumes at this point. Gillen and Hickman appear once in a while to do something for 12 issues and they dip. The entire comic scene to me feels utterly hollow. The indie boom of the early/mid 10s was the last time it felt exciting, and then Krakoa for a little bit felt as if something interesting was happening, but they all ended and now we're in a state worse than the much lamented 90s. Because the 90s at least had some expressive art, even the shitty books were comfy albeit basic, and there were lots of risks being taken. Now there's nothing. No new art of any note, just discount House Art across the board. Stories that mean nothing to the point that even events don't sell anymore. Have you noticed how badly OWUD is doing in relative terms? And that's because it's a stretched out nothing of a story that is not just a rehashed Dark Reign, it's an awful, off-brand quality Dark Reign. There is genuinely no reason to read mainline Big 2 books anymore. There just isn't. It's all just schlock that exists for publication to keep the rights. Ultimate & Absolute captured lightning in the bottle and those retards already are ruining it.
>>150449795>>150449809Ok retardNext time begin your post with "this will be my final post on /co/"
Mainline is so uninteresting... just the Absolutes and JSA for me.

>>150451053I hope Etrigan beats the shit out of LuthorSlap the bald man into a stupor
>>150448905Why is Asbolute Batman getting two one off specials in a row? The main book should be enough to tell the story, I don't want to be picking up multiple absolute batman books every month.
>>150454182It's their best-selling comic of course they're going to bleed it dry.
>>150452519Jason is fighting Joker, not Batman. You can even see it if you look closely. Bruce dies in the first issue and Joker takes his place in the tournament.

>>150457683I think Kelly Thompson left to do the Buffy books.I actually don't think it was cancelled due to the way the trades are mapped, which are usually a dead giveaway for when Marvel and DC are cancelling a series but not in this case (vol. 4 collected up until issue #26. It wouldn't make sense to make a final trade just for two issues), which tells me DC wasn't expecting Kelly to leave.
Dudes heros fighting lmao
