Dr. Strange was the only decent part of New Avengers 2013. Shame they cucked him in Battleworld immediately after
>>150448897Wow this is some great art. Maybe i will read it
anyone have a strange reading list? I’ve always wanted to go through his titles
>>150449939It’s from the only annual that New Avengers run got. The entire thing has excellent art, even if the plot is whatever. It’s self-contained.>>150450002What I’ve heard passed around as gospel is>Triumph & Torment>The Oath>Original Ditko Run (Strange Tales #121-162, I think it was)Personally, i’ll also tentatively recommend>1968 run >Early 1974 (I’ve only read up to issue #9. It’s good so far)>Giant-Size DefendersThey’re definitely not on the same level as the aforementioned, but I enjoyed them.If you’re desperate you can also read>New Avengers (2013), specifically issues #14-21>1602 (original series)Not explicitly Strange-focused stories but he has a good showing in them.As a rule, Strange is better solo than in groups— not because of any character flaw, but because the writers don’t know what to fucking do with him and keep gimping him so hard that he borders on useless in half his group stories. I can’t say I blame them; he’s blowing up planets and cheating death within his first decade, after all, but it really does hamper him a lot. It’s so bad that fans back in the day endlessly bitched about it in Defenders mail-ins. Those are also funny to read if you want catharsis.
The Oath may be a good Dr. Strange comic, but it's a pretty mediocre Brian K Vaughan comic.By which I mean that it doesn't hold a candle to Runaways or Y the Last Man or Ex Machina, but it may well be better than the average Dr Strange comic
>>150451587Y The Last Man is shit.
