>>150451793Was Prokhlastios ever mentioned before in the story?
I assume the staff has been introduced right in this strip but is there a lore callback maybe?
>>150453144There was a story at the beginning of book four about a god who had a staff so heavy it would create valleys as it was dragged.
I stopped caring a year ago, now I just want it to be over.

>>150459638It's now been over 5 years since she last appeared in the comic. Abbadon has got to be saving her for something special.
>>150460082She's gonna get absolutely mogged one last time is all that's gonna happen. She's gotten mogged in both her major fight scenes. Juggs has one of the best designs in this comic and its a shame she's kind of a nothingburger.

>>150460109This. The running theme of KSBD is that choosing to dedicate your existence to violence for it's own sake will ultimately leave you miserable. Juggernaut Star's entire character and design is having dedicated herself to violence for reasons that ultimately leave her very, very angry. Whatever her reasons turn out to be, I'm absolutely certain she is going to get punked harder than even Incubus is. And Incubus is the character with the most "this man is made to be humiliated and overcome as a sign of character progression" energy in the webcomic. But at least he has bottom text plot armour that might let him survive the main story only to be inevitably cut down by Maya sometime later.
>>150461774Just chill, homie. You need to be somewhere?
>>150461801Unironically yeah, I need to have been at the end of this webcomic like 3 years ago. There've been good moments and some great art, but the more the author's limitations as a writer show the more I really just want to get everything over with and pretend like my attention invested in this thing mattered more than a basic bitch "nihilism bad!" and "friendship and self-love good!" message when the webcomic's initial design notes billed it as a much more amoral beast.I'd love to see Aesma's reaction to the idea of "strength beyond strength".
Ayo dis is da 41st millennium and da end battle is a gonna a finna start any moment now in two weeks.
>>150462122I mean yeah, I’d enjoy that more than another fucking group of women patting each under on the back for being so heckin’ wholesome and valid.
>>150451793How long has it been since jaggahog?
>>150462312Too long. Got to love how fans of this shit have no real argument about the pacing issues other than "um, you're not supposed to enjoy the thing sweetie ;^)"
>>150456156I met Abaddon at DragonCon and had it not been for me being a normal person I was tempted with asking him about that past art of his
>>150460109Her thing is that she's powerful but always ends up going against top tiers. And now that the main characters are top tiers, she's been left behind.
>>150461774I mean this page is basically Allison saying her goodbyes, I'm guessing in the next one she hops into the Sivran ship to directly fight Incubus.
>>150462538>Her thing is that she's powerful but always ends up going against top tiers. And now that the main characters are top tiers, she's been left behind.Juggs won't show her face again until she returns with some fresh gimmick to counter. This loop is supposed to bring change after all.
>>150462552I really fucking hope so, and that's not say-a prelude to the comic trying to get me to care about what Zaid, Nyave and Princess are doing right now instead of just fucking bringing back the best characters (the Demiurges)
>>150462850>what Zaid, Nyave and Princess are doing right nowZaid is doing sword magic somewhere on the battlefield, Nyave is commanding the fleet, and we see Princess on this very page kicking ass with Vigilant Gaze. Basically everyone who isn't Allison is just there to punch goons.
>>150462914I'll be chuffed if we're immediately getting to Jagganoth's jailbreak, I've just been so profoundly disappointed by both Jadis and Gog turning out to be nothingburgers I'm scared to have hope of being interested again.
>>150463054>Gog>Nothingburger Seriously? Her whole sequence was quite distinct compared to the other demiurges
>>150463213>Seriously?Well I'm specifically annoyed by how underwhelming the resolution to her threat was, how Nu-coke showed up to hog screentime from her, and how out of nowhere the confrontation with her was. It's weird now you point it out, though. On paper Gog SHOULD have been a "Wow!" moment. But there's something about how she's treated so flippantly even by Allison that makes the way even Mottom, Incubus or Mammon were dealt with, let alone Solomon-David or Jagganoth, come off as more impressive. It's hard to quantify, but ironically for such a showboat Gog kind of lacks stage presence. She just feels like a powerup Allison made a quick stop by to pick up to have a chance later on, and not even in an ominous way like bargaining with HIMSELF. Yes, yes, the comic would probably say I'm supposed to be impressed by how far Allison has come to winning battles of will with Demiurges but even that's undercut when as Jag points out Gog is kind of weak mentally and in any case the pseudo-flashbacks left a bad taste in my mouth. It's less about the concept and more about how the execution of that whole plot felt like it just wanted to get Gog over with as soon as possible.
>>150463341>the execution of that whole plot felt like it just wanted to get Gog over with as soon as possible.Yeah at this point of the story Abbadon can't afford to have a whole book arc about Gog, specially since she shared the spotlight with Solomon in book 4.
>>150463393I appreciate that. It's just that, well, that doesn't stop the Gog "arc" from being underwhelming. Frankly with the way pacing has gone I'm not sure there should've been time for Gog as anything except a force of nature in the comic.
>>150463393Also none of that justifies the Jadis arc being a complete waste of everyone's time unless it's literally your first "life has no meaning ;^(" story ever.
>>150463501Yet it broke the minds of a bunch of people who just couldnt handle the notion of the KSBD multiverse being completely deterministic. Jadis' arc is the ultimate inflection point of the story in which Allison actually achieves enlightement by overcoming nihilism and finally, fully embraces her role as the heir, before that she was just bumping into stuff or trying to rescue Zaid. Not to mention the arc finally puts in the main story YISUN's absurdist and contradictory teachings from the Liturgy.
>>150463633C'mon, be fair. It's /co/, most people posting here are jaded by someone breaking fated outcomes by being special enough in capeshit.>before that she was just bumping into stuffDunno about that. She still kind of feels like she's just bumping into stuff, but...productively. Which you could argue is the point and I could argue is an issue with Royalty being rooted in self-actualisation rather than morality (again, Aesma and Hansa being prime examples of Royalty. And utter rotten cunts) being something that should be scrutinised more. Especially when everyone in the actual story seems to assume Royalty is morally correct and will result in unambiguously beneficial outcomes for the world despite the whole point of Royalty being a fundamentally amoral concept by definition. And demonstrably destructive. Yes, yes, stagnation bad, but it would be nice if there was more emphasis on the positives of Allison's journey sometimes. Like all the folks she apparently helped out while training with White Chain. I'm not asking her to be a superhero or anything, but it feels like destruction, failure, and loss are the most significant outcomes of her involvement with little silver linings.>finallyI thought Mottom's final moments against Jagganoth did that better, honestly. She was the man boldly setting forth in the desert knowing his canteen was empty at that point.
>>150463633As I understand Jadis' arc coincided with the comic slowing down and long breaks hence why it is so hated. Fortunately I took a break from comics around the same time and had the chance to finish the arc in one sitting so I was spared most of this impression. It is interesting how people can praise the parable of the plum, Hansa and his pipe, Prince Kasardis, etc. yet don't understand what Jadis arc taught Allison.
>>150463741To be clear I understand full well what the Jadis arc taught Allison, I just felt it did so in such a painfully on the nose way that I saw the twist coming from basically the moment she woke up.The only thing I will say in KSBD's defence is that I probably wouldn't have felt this aware about everything going on if Abby himself hadn't spelt out that Jadis was 100% actually omniscient long before we got here, just as Jag being 100% actually invulnerable spells out that however he ends up being defeated won't be with fighting.
>>150463734>it feels like destruction, failure, and loss are the most significant outcomes of her involvement with little silver linings.Support our savior Metatron, brother for Allison IS the Wheel Smashing Lord. I suspect the wheel naturally follows some cycle of samsara. Like the death of YISUN and then the mulitplicity, there must be death before rebirth. >She was the man boldly setting forth in the desert knowing his canteen was empty at that point.Nah she was the man freed from longterm bondage suddenly realizing her enemy Jag is even more tied down and suffering on a greater scale than she ever could be. Her death only freed her and wouldn't help him at all.
>>150463633reading it again once it was completed, I like jadis's arc, but I agree gog was underwhelming.
>>150462355sound like a ‘you’ issue. I’ve been enjoying it immensely. I could hardly care about the pacing.
>>150462355I'm enjoying it. Skill issue.
Wonder if we're seeing the pursuers again. Last time we saw them Maya had become their de facto leader and she did mention making "preparations" before the fight with Incubus.>>150466397I miss Mammon
>>150462559fuck he's great.
