Post movies with kino plots that fall apart midway through itDespicable Me:>story about some James Bond-type villain trying to one-up another villain after he became the biggest one>instead most of the movie is about him raising some annoying little girls who constantly screamFuck this movie.
>>150456854It’s a movie, for kids.
>>150457447Yeah but i wanted spy kino
>>150457447Stfu l*ddittard
>>150456854honestly I think them focusing on the minions later on made it worse and turned the franchise into one big meme
>>150458609Which is weird, because outside of Despicable Me 2, which was clearly rewritten to give the minions a bigger role in the plot, the minions never fucking do anything. They're like Family Guy cutaway gags, even in their own movie.
>>150456854>story about an evil cynical asshole choosing to genuinely become a better person after realizing he can love and be loved by other people>movie shifts focus entirely toward the marketable creatures and makes a hundred spinoffs about them fucking around and doing stupid shit
What about Spies in Disguise?>Expected spy kino>Got nothing but pigeon jokes
Shut the fuck up, you retarded child (OP).
>This thread literally the same day I decided to see the first movie for the first timeIt was alright. The kids weren't as insufferable as I was expecting and though it's pretty predictable in terms of how it progresses it had some good gags. Can't wait to see how later movies ruin this by adding more Minions
>isch bin ein despikable
>>150456854Wreck-it-Ralph bothered me>trailers promise a game-hopping adventure about a bad guy trying to go good>Ralph's game, cool>FPS game, cool>candy racer, cool>candy racer, cool?>...we're still in the candy racerSeeing the rest of the movie become nothing but candy jokes was a total letdown. Still like the movie but it could've had more fun video game worlds
>>150459375Despite being the focus of promo material the minions aren't as prominent as you think. That's why they have the spinoff minion movies. If I remember, Despicable Me 3 in particular had very little minion stuff. The mainline movies are genuinely about Gru and the girls
>>150456854I don't like how Frankenweenie had all the other kids and their pets be evil while still treating Victor and Sparky's story with the same degree of seriousness. It felt unnecessarily mean spirited and unfitting given the movies attempts at depicting grief. Also it went from a relatively original plot to just copy-pasting random scenes from older horror movies.
>>150460339>Seeing the rest of the movie become nothing but candy jokes was a total letdownI was kind of caught off guard when they made a Devil Dogs joke because Drake's snacks are such a very specific regional thing they were effectively making a joke for like... the northeast United States and that's it.
