one thing that stands out about the pilot when compared to other glitch shows is that the storyboard team is completely different: most glitch shows have a mostly consistent (with the occasional change) storyboard team with some extra involvement from the show creator's (for example, on TADC the storyboard artists are working off of rough thumbnail boards done by Gooseworx). But for KOG the storyboard team was straight up just Dana (as lead) and Zach Marcus (one of the other two co-creators, was a staff writer on TOH and prior to that a storyboard artist on Star vs)

The Pilot felt mid and could have been done better. The only characters that really interest me is Orville, Gwen and Olivia. Frankie feels like Dana had overly butchified her when Frankie should probably have more of a body type like Jasper from Steven Universe or slightly like Opal's body type. I wish the Pilot showed more of Andi's work as well as other Crownie's jobs as well. Even it's for plot convenience sake Frankie and Andi really shouldn't have gotten scott free from Sparky and his crew. The creators should have just created a scenario were Frankie and Andi stumble upon a Gwen, Hide it for the meantime and then come back for it. It sucks that the Gwen vs Titan Knight fight hadn't been shown visually simply to save the surprising discoveries of Gwen for later episodes, though hopefully the creators have already figured out how to streamline and tighten up the story for future episodes.

The Australian government is helping with the funding of this expansion. These are still pilots, what they want people to see first, the difference is that Knights already had a fleshed out team beforehand to make this episode. We also need to keep in mind that they are meant to be a one-season series. And the pacing of this show seems faster-paced, like it’s supposed to be a Disney movie rather than a Disney show where you expect more adventures to play out. So we end up with this smaller cast of two little girls and their mama. While Gaslight district provides four different members that could get their own episodes. Circus had five members and that made its length significantly longer.
