Episodic cartoons that are mindless drivel but have easy rerun value is killing modern corporate animation.
>tfw no young Japanese stepmom
>>150486569Nah, we need more of it and less story driven slop
>>150486569There’s nothing “modern” about episodic cartoons that can be rerun in any order. That’s like 90% on cartoons produced since cartoons were invented. Serialised cartoons are comparatively rare.
>>150486569Showerthought:Maybe the beanmouth style would be better if it stayed in loreshit cartoons and was kept out of episodic stuff, that way I can ignore it easily since I don’t watch those kinds of craptoons. In a perfect world we’d have tons of modern episodic stuff with 90’s cartoon level animation quality
>>150486646Half right
>>150486569This is one of the only good cartoons on right now. It's funny and it's why it's stayed on the air for 7 years and counting. Episodic funny shows are the backbone of the medium and are needed to balance out more artsy endeavors like the loreshit limited series this board likes so much. Those don't sell toys/pull in ratings.
>>150486569TRVTH
>>150486569Big City Greens has so many zero continuity episodes that it's nigh impossible to keep up with the actual plot. Like I had no idea who Chip was and then next thing I knew he was a big villain
DAFFY DIED AND WENT TO HELL IN THE LAST CARTOON BUT NOW HE'S BACKFUCKING EPISODIC SLOP
>>150487698Looney Tunes is actually funny
>>150487770So then clearly the issue isn't being episodic. The issue is just that they suck.Episodic shows can be great. Serialized shows can be great. Loreshows can be great. It's all about the execution.
