Was MAWS a failure?
>>150487126Yes and No, it’s modestly well received among dedicated fans but not remembered or talked about by wider audiences. Whether or not that counts as a success or failure is up to you
>>150487126Past Tense? They cancelled the show?
depends on how shameless americans are
considering its getting another season along with a Green Lantern spinoff id say no
>>150487126It got people talking online but that didn't reflect on viewership so it was a vocal minority. Nevertheless, WB seems to care more about positive reception online than actually making money so it can be considered a success
>>150487126No, it was very successful, and most people loved it.
it really depends on what you consider a success.if you can't even feel ashamed, making fake-anime animated by koreans is a pretty convenient way for an american cartoon to be somewhat successful now.
>>150487126Not even remotely.
>>150487192It's getting a spin-off and has a third season in the works, but that new Superman movie's rousing popularity definitely has me worried it might indirectly make MAWS an even lower priority for Warner Bros. Discovery since it's so far removed from the new DCU.
>>150487126>show gets season renovations and a spin-off in delecopment>it's a failure according to /co/Every time
Lois lost because of the insistence on using this dumbass version of her for her pic btw
>>150487218Explain.
>>150487152>about by wider audiences.Marvel Rivals as one example, has a bigger impact and reach as a vidya game especially one that hit to a degree with normies, but that hasn't translated into eyeballs. Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man featuring a currently more popular character didn't even hit the level that the first Spider-Verse movie hit - there's far more porn, fan art, fan fiction, etc. of MAWS for example. X-Men '97 had a build-in audience, whereas the built-in aging conservative boomer audience for Superman media rejected what would this year be called the DEIfication of the Superman characters. And then, of course, there's always the 'cartoons for girl' slander that's especially popular here.>>150487126>>150487246Nah.WB cares about profits. The old CN network profit center that benefited from toy sales is a relic of the pre-Warner Media area that AT&T did away with and the DISCO people have not brought back. In fact, with Mattel taking over the contract next year, we may finally get some MAWS toys. Hollywood today uses different metrics than the simple 'Nielsen' rating/theatrical box office that some folks here fixate on. They include those numbers but not just those, particularly in this day and age when streaming isn't measured the same way as linear or even cable.
>>150488828>make MAWS an even lower priority for Warner BrosMAWS is make with a shoestring budget and the animation already looks like crap. If they thing they are losing money with the project, suits will straight up cancel it.
