>"I'm just more interested in getting into the heart of Lex, seeing how he fits into all of this, and getting to know more of Lex as a human being," Gunn explained. " We saw a lot about the evil part of Lex. He's pretty evil. He, as a character, is really interesting. There's something, despite everything, that is incredibly heroic about Lex. Take aside morality, which is hard to do, but here is this guy who is saying, 'You can hold up a building. You can shoot down planes with your eyes. Fuck you, I'm going to kick your ass because I'm better than you.’”

>"Yeah, sure, he's got a lot of corporate power that he can use to manipulate things, but he can't fly into outer space, lift up a building, or punch something across three states," the DC Studios co-CEO added. "I can't help but admire his tenacity and his ego. His ambition is beyond compare. He's the underdog. He's a guy, and I fucking love that." Gunn went on to shed more light on what fans can expect from MAN OF TOMORROW by saying that SUPERMAN "is more comic book-y in some ways," reiterating that this sequel "has to do with the dual characters of Lex and Superman at the center."

>Stole the movie so hard the sequel immediately makes him an anti-hero second lead

Lexbros, we won.

Lex Luthor shot an innocent man in the head for fun
He kept his ex-girlfriend as a prisoner for trying to dump him
There is no way to spin this guy into anti-hero
>>
>>150500311
Depends on the kind of anti-hero you go for.
Everyone forgets that "villain protagonist faces off with worse guy for the sake of his own personal motivations" is under the umbrella of "anti-hero" stories

i still expect that we'll get the All Star Superman ending for Lex by the time the continuity ends.
>>
>>150500382
I'd be surprised after how much they used All Star to market this movie and it had almost nothing in common with it.

It's almost like Gunn never read it and was just pulling titles out of his ass or something

Sooner Paramount scraps this dumpsterfire the better

He also threatened Rex's baby.
Stocked genocide to free up land for his cult, and endangered Metropolis simply to preoccupy Superman.

pretty based. jeets and other subhumans will seethe as always

>let me post a heroin addict that got cucked to death, heh, this will show all the whites how wrong they are about james gunn

Then there's the black hole

Really if this franchise wasn't written by a hack there would be no possible way to redeem Lex

This is what decades of making Superman's character about muh godhood led to. Lex is supposed to be a scummy industrialist, a literal corrupt mob boss. Him being some true believer in the power of humanity trying to rebel against the gods is retarded nonsense that authors like Morrison added.

When will you people learn that non-main characters don't matter and civilian lives are worthless

>Post-Crisis
Byrne ruined Lex by making him into a corrupt businessman. He was better as a science whiz master criminal.

This is not bronze age Luthor.

This is not Byrne's Luthor.

Lex is an egomaniac who wants to be in control.
He hates Superman because he's an uncontrollable force.
He can't stand being at Superman's mercy.

>Stocked genocide to free up land for his cult
Not even. The whole deal he made with that country, as he explained, was just so that he could get US government approval to kill Superman. It was all about that. He didn't care about dividing up that other country to make his own. It was all just an excuse to kill Superman.
