Do you ever think about how absurd the concept of a comic book writer is? Especially compared to comic strips, which are usually done by one person.
Why did Wimpy do it?
>>150501430Wimpy is pretty consistently portrayed as a scummy lowlife who will gladly commit any degree of crime, scam, or other unethical activity if it means free food.
>>150501465I love Thimble Theatre, it's so far removed from what a comedy set in America would be like nowadays.
>>150501430Reread the first panel
>>150501430He's antisemitic
>>150501396>Especially compared to comic strips, which are usually done by one person.Contrary to popular belief that's pretty untrue. Majority of comic strips (especially legacy ones) are done by multiple people or have ghost writers. Even Charles Schulz had at least a colorist for the Peanuts comic.

>>150501465Would he suck dick for a hamburger no matter what condition it's in
>>150501396It's only absurd because most comic book writers are awful.
>>150501691When did Peanuts start being printed in color?
>>150501396Segar is legit a GOAT
>>150501396>Especially compared to comic strips, which are usually done by one person. You know even big comic strips were often written by people other than the artist? It's just not something often talked about because Mark Evanier gives an example of Flash Gordon not being written by Alex Raymond for most of it's run.>Someone else could write without credit. Most of you know the feature Flash Gordon and many of you know it was created by the great Alex Raymond, who drew it from its inception. I'll bet not ten people reading this know the name of the guy who wrote it for a lot longer than Raymond drew it and who some think contributed as much to Flash Gordon as Finger contributed to Batman. The writer's name was Don W. Moore.https://www.newsfromme.com/2014/06/28/real-dynamic-duo-kane-finger/Even now there's plenty of people who write strips drawn by other people.
>>150502079>no matter what condition it's inthe hamburger or the dick?
>>150503115The hamburgerOr both
>>150501430For a hamburger. If memory serves, with lettuce and onions.
>>150501430They seem to hate each other quite a bit, but I doubt Wimpy needed any further motivation than the promise of a hamburger to begin with.
