>Comics: anti-corporation, anti-authority, basically cyberpunk Spidey>Movie: builds his own spider-cop police force, unhinged authoritarian leader how the fuck did people eat this up?
>>150505972Normalfags don't read comics and don't care where adaptations are blatantly inaccurateFags saw handsome muscular man and that's all that mattered to themGrifters saw a character set up to pwn Miles so they felt obliged to shill him even when he was shit too
Ben Reilly got it worse lol
>>150505972i think they’re building towards a twist that this guy isn’t the real miguel. he looks nothing like the 2099 at the end of ITSV. more than just simply redesigning him, they completely changed his frame and style.
>>150506310You know, I did hear a rumor that Lord and Miller were originally planning for Superior Lady Ock to be the antagonist of Spider-Verse 2. The idea would be that she would take over Spider-Gwen's body (after coming back from getting hit by Truck-Kun) and be the big twist reveal villain, with her goal being to become a God ruling over the multiverse (this tracks considering the call-back to Spider-Man 2 with the "the power of the multiverse in the palm of my hand" scene in the deleted scenes/alt universe cut of Spider-Verse).
>>150505972Spiderman Buckbreaker99
>>150505972Wasnt it explained in the movie? He becomes way more jaded and ruthless because he fucked up and decided to "break canon" and shit which wiped his family from existence. This causes him to go from the more heroic, more accurate, lean look from ITSV to become horribly jacked and monstrous or whatever. Well he was jacked in the flashback but we can chalk it up to him trying to be a ripped father type.
>>150505972I like Miguel better than that Nigger Morales. No exception
I thought comic Miguel was some kind of lolbert or something
>>150505972He was sort of like that in the Battleworld tie-in. Not sure if that was supposed to be canon though, but it was an order Miguel
>>150506569Older*
>>150505996>Normalfags don't read comics and don't care where adaptations are blatantly inaccuratethis. The movie will always supersede the source material.
>>150506595The opinions of secondaries are worth less than nothing
>>150506310>>150506434it's either that or I think this Miguel was traumatized to the point of abandoning everything he stood for as he desperately tries to shoulder the responsibility of what he thinks is the only person keeping the multiverse from collapsing, and that sort of desperation move is what causes more and more members to turn away from him. At least I definitely got the sense that the movie all but said that out in words. He WAS the Miguel we know and love, but the threat of multiversal collapse and his own first hand experience of watching an entire timeline be erased out of a selfish thing he did caused him to put his personal morals aside and do whatever he could to keep everyone else safe.
>>150506434I like the through line of upping her from secondary to major antagonist, but the Superior Spider-Gwen thing is a bit grim. It's not going to happen anymore, but for what it's worth I'd prefer they introduced a heavily concealed Madame Web, then reveal Olivia fully realized her research on Peter B to learn how the Spider-Man process works, made her own spider with that much more juice behind it to the point she gained ascended awareness and took on the guise of Madame Web to dupe the other Spider Men into trusting the seemingly all knowing old lady so they do her bidding until she can kill them and all other threats off.Still imposing but less garish for the rest of the cast. Then something something Miles has an alternate dimension spider so she can't read his thoughts and actions making him their secret ace.
>>150505972nobody reads comics
>>150506434is this real or are you pulling some fanfic out of your ass
>>150505996>Grifters saw a character set up to pwn Miles so they felt obliged to shill him even when he was shit toonewfag
Fun fact, this character is like this thanks to us. He represents us and people were supposed to hate him.
nigga can I not have one Spider-Verse thread with normla discussion without Milesfags and retards whining about Milesfags ruining it again
>>150506793He is the protagonist of this movie...
>>150506793I like him, he raps happy
>>150506310Yeah that was my theory too. Maybe he turns out to be an inheritor since they show up in the spiderverse comics. Everything about him seems plausible but could also be read as misdirection. Even the thing about canon events seems shaky when you consider that the Indian Spider-man universe quickly started collapsing (maybe the Spot fucking around directly was the cause instead?) but Gwen's didn't when she changed her canon and the original universe for Miles' spider kept on going.
>>150506889>>150506940I'm fine with discussing Miles but for once I'd like to see a thread without people whining about his existence or people shilling for him that he's better than Peter, etc.
>>150505972Are you surprised? They wrote Ben Reilly totally out of character to make a "90s comics bad" joke
>>150505972>comics: from the future>movie: from an alternate universeNot the same character. Let the thirsty women lust for the big Hispanic guy with fangs. They are going to be so disappointed when the 2099 main universe Miguel is adapted in a movie.
