You can tell how Lassester started to slowly fall off as time went on, I don’t think Cars is a bad movie but I can understand why people think it’s the weakest of golden age Pixar, he would also later direct the shit that was Cars 2, not to mention he’s a sex pest.

Funny how the top four all have absolute masterpieces but they all also have one, exactly one, stinker.

Better question:

Seeing that many NuPixar films are directed by people who got their start on Pixar shorts (Turning Red was directed by the Bao director, Luca was directed by the La Luna director), which short film creator should direct a film next?

Honestly I’d love to see the Day and Night creator Teddy Newton direct a film, I love his UPA/Spumco inspired style and how it manages to blend that style with 3D in that short.

>Brad and Andrew went off to direct live action movies which became huge flops and then did sequels which were crap
Serves them right for not sticking to what they know. Good dinosaur happened cause of them.

Tbf I think the sequels weren’t good cause the directors didn’t really want to make them, the Mouse just forced them to do so for the money. I don’t even think Finding Dory and Incredibles 2 were terrible, they were just mediocre, and had a few select moments where you can see the OG directors touch, I don’t actively despise them as much as I do Toy Story 4.

How has nobody in this thread said Brad Bird yet? The Incredibles and Ratatouille blow any other Pixar film out of the water.
