>>150522696No, Japanese animation was suffering as Cagliostro, Gamba No Boken and The World Masterpiece Theater were the exceptions to the countless toy/manga commercials that were being spammed on Japanese TV at the time.The only real highlight in Japan besides those 3 is what came out of Topcraft and Mom Productions through Rankin/Bass because Nippon Animation's and TMS' non-Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata (with Osamu Dezaki for TMS) was worthless and forgot about at best.Even Vicky The Viking and Maya The Bee had both Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata on board as animators with Nobuo Tomizawa and Yoichi Kotabe which is why those 2 (mostly with Maya as the Kotabe'isoms are much stronger with Maya then they are with Vicky) are even remembered today.
