we all know that Mr A is ditkos pet project espousing the rigid virtue of objectivismand the question was a kid-friendly version of Mr A to get people to think about objectivismbut how would you make a kids show (either actual kids with TV-Y7 or a TV-PG aimed at the action genre) that espouses objectivist virtues>primary lesson for the kids: the individual is something to be celebrated>recurring theme (that kids probably wont consciously recognize): reality is something objective that can either be measured or reasoned to exist rather than something subjective >hard mode: dont sound like a preachy blowhard like Mr A>very hard mode: dont make its randianism obvious like Mr A>extremely hard mode: appeal to casuals rather than cultivating a fanbase of rabid ancaps
Mr A should fight Rorschach in Death Battle. That'd be fuckin cool.
>>150521614Mr A would win, easily
>>150521614>>150521664Retards.
>>150521675You're seething lmao
>>150521585The real question is how do we do this with National Socialism?
>>150521585This Is based
>>150521614Death Battle is gay
>>150521585Rand said 'just don't call it objectivism if you're gonna tack anything on', so I suggest departing from the term.I will preface this with the note that I've only ready like 3-4 stories that get posted here, like the one where he doesn't save the guy on the flagpole, but frankly I found Mr. A to be a 2D sock puppet looming over people to scowl and wag a finger, or "preachy blowhard" as you put it. If you want to make the character sympathetic, maybe have him struggle with living up to his own stated ideals. Having to pick over family or morals, needing co compromise on a principle or a bunch of innocents suffer, etc. Having him loom and sermonize like the voice of God over other people's problems never did it for me. If I met someone like that in real life I'd assume he was trying to deflect from some truly freaky fetishes
Philosophy is for normalfags and his morality is incorrect, but I like how he looks.
>>150523437>Philosophy is for normalfagsLol no
>>150521585Explain The suicide squad and Punisher, Mr. A. A bit idealistic dontcha think.
>>150521585What does Mr A doing in his life?
>>150521694Cope thirdie
>>150521767Stfu fag
>>150521585Mr. gAy lol
I like Ditko's autism
>>150521585Is he Canadian?
>>150529921No, that's Mr Eh
>>150521585
It's really fun.
>>150530238Mr. A? It really isn't.
>>150521585Do people really enjoy this shit regardless of politics? It's literally just "WORDS! WORDS! WORDS! WORDS!", it feels like his superpower is boring his enemies to dead with lectures instead of adventuresEverytime someone brings the libertarian spiderman panes /co/ goes "OMIGOSH! Stan and Dikto surely were on different sides of the political spectrum!"... No? Are you guys fucking stupid? The only thing i picture is Stan Lee saying "Dikto! Stop being a fucking spaz and wasting panels with cryptic speeches complaining about today's youth WHO ARE THE FUCKING AUDIENCE OF THIS COMIC! Just drawn him fighting the sand guy again!"
>>150530405I doubt it.
>>150528824I like his art.
>>150530405Why are you spazzing out?
Step1: Be Brad Bird
>>150524997Uh, lol yeah. Any philosopher would spit acid and die of a heart attack if you told them what a furry was.
>>150533554the incredibles is very much about conventional altruismthe titular incredibles all use their power for good out of a desire to helpsyndrome, who uses his powers solely for self-interest, is bad
>>150525056in Mr As world, the punisher is not an anti-hero, he is just a villain who is deeply mistaken but shouldnt be rescued if he ever gets into trouble
>>150533841>The A stands for autistic.-Alan Moore
>>150533620Nah. Furfaggotry is rightfully dismissed as a type of paraphilia for shit-taste losers by any philosopher.
>>150534496Thanks for bolstering my point, although I’m sure you knew I’d see it that way.
>>150521585Unironically just do a normal classic kid's show.>the good guys are good>the bad guys are bad>there's no grey area>the bad guys get defeated and punished>the good guys are celebratedSimple as.
>>150521585is the mr.A comics actually good? I only seen videos talking about it and it mainly just talking about steve ditko
>>150535735Not really. The art is cool, but the stories tend to suck. All the characters are either mouthpieces or strawmen.
>>150533620>bizarre fetish exists, therefore all philosophy invalid??????
>>150535825Yes.
>>150521585Honestly, it would be funny if someone started his own superhero comic where the hero kills a typical edgelord Joker style supervillain and the rest of the issue is about how there is no negative consequences. After that, that hero never kills another person ever again.
The idea of there not being a middle line is interesting, because it would imply that someone who has done both good and evil deeds fall directly into one or the other, and then that starts to beg a lot of questions. If someone has done an evil deed, will that exclude them from being good forever? If not, then how much evil can one do before falling out of being good?If someone does a single evil deed, how much good would they need to outweigh it, and not be evil? How "evil" of an action actually constitutes labeling someone as evil?Or how many evil actions?Same for good.Am I evil for littering 1 time? How many times would I need to litter beyond that to be evil? How much good would I need to do to outweigh the evil of my littering? Can someone be more evil if they jaywalked once, and simply never do anything good, than some who has done a lot of good, but also raped someone?
>>150533820actually Syndrome is bad because he kills people
>>150536885Stfu
>>150536898or rather, it's not the act of killing that's bad, it's how he does it for sport
>>150525056Those are fictional stories.
>>150533488Because he's who Mr. A is talking about
>>150535825He's got a point. It's sort of like how Martin Luther was all like: "we have to respect everyone from all walks of life even if they have different beliefs than ours" until he read the Talmud then 180'd into "destroy them all."
>>150536835> All the facetious pilpul to try to obfuscate the nuance of the issueYou're on the evil side, Anon.
>>150523177youre meant to read him like an old pulp hero like the shadow. its insane how retarded /co/ is that they think mr.a is meant to be taken as a serious philosophical bible instead of pulpy action comic with a pastiche of the ideas that ditko was into
>>150536835ditko made a mr.a comic about if youd bother to read it. all your questions are answered by virtue ethics and youre a dumb midwit who isnt well read.
>>150537066> All the facetious pilpul to try to obfuscate the nuance of the issueI'm simply asking question. If there's only good and evil, someone who's done both will have to fall in either one of them. All you have to say is that doing any evil just makes you evil forever, and all the rest goes away.
>>150537055Except moral philosophy covers far more bases than "religious moral philosophy". Like you could fit furfaggotry into preference utilitarianism, for example. So no, it's completely ridiculous to say fetishes invalidate philosophy - philosophy covers all sorts of weird shit, often just saying it's "fucking evil" or "sure you do you".
>>150521585Oi really don't loike this character goiys
>>150537083There's a page where Mr. A tells former evildoer who repented that is not even gray but white. But if you keep doing evil things whenever it is convenient, then you remain black.
>>150521614True
>>150535465If it doesn't have the retard trying to dance the line in the grays that don't exist then it's not really mr. a
