Also did the same in the kidnapping ep, where he saved kathy from the problems by doing a normal kid voice. That and the skull ep makes me think he can lock in but is used to not caring so he only uses like 10% of his brain most of the time. But when he sees them in need he'll be normal or focus, like how in the skull demon ep he's able to get the ingredients besides for cilantro but really was more simple mistake, and even fixed the globe.

For a show that doesn't really feel like it's doing much to make its characters or plots be set apart from other adult cartoons of its ilk, I found myself surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
