I even rip original material from various sources but it's tough to beat some of the bigger release groups to the punch on popular stuff. I tended to specialize in more obscure series or harder to find stuff which is all well and good for archival purposes, but it wasn't in high demand. If I downloaded a series that put me in the hole for 30gb, I'd have to wait FOREVER to seed enough of that specific torrent plus any of my own rips to get a good enough ratio again. I'd find myself sometimes downloading something super popular that I had no interest in just because I'd hope that enough *other* people would download it from me that I could balance my ratio again. In the end, I decided that while private trackers have cool stuff, it's too much work if you're into stuff that isn't super popular. (And again, if you ARE into stuff that's super popular, then you don't really need to be in a private tracker). RIP Nandato.
