Was it truly beyond repair? Was it not worth the money to fix?
>>
wasnt the engine just fucked? you cant really fix that easily
>>
Engine swaps in old pickups were easy as shit.
All you need is an engine, which isn't the cheapest thing in the world, but is generally cheaper than a new truck

Unironically I think Hank's autism would trigger at that and he'd find himself in a Ship of Theseus situation.
>>
>>150545292
They could've swapped it
>>
boomer problems lol
that's the joke.
>>
>>150545314
Luanne wasn't there to do that for him. I was more the fact that he took his inability to fix it as a personal failing. Like if a pet is dying despite your best attempts to care for it.

I'm getting to this situation with my 00 ranger. Not given up on it yet but gonna miss her when she's gone

I have a 96 tanger I've had 2 engine swaps on. First engine didnt make it a year after I bought it but it did have 250,000 miles. (Ironically died after the first time I got an oil change) Second engine had 110,000 miles on it but it lasted a good 7 years. Newest one is refurbished I believe. Calling it quits after this one.

Hank doesn't really buy Ship of Theseus and also it can be really expensive to gut it and basically replace the engine and transmission.
>>
>>150545336
which would've been a funny episode in of itself
>>
>>150546259
I can see an episode about the guys taking on a project to fix someones car and hijinks ensue
>>
>>150546259
Shit that would have been great.

>Dangit Bill it's not that simple!
>The engine of a truck is like the mind of a man.
>If I replace that it's not really the same truck.
>Then what's next? The dashboard? The driver's seat?
>>
>>150545236
He a Cheap ass
>>
>>150547155
>Hank converts it to run on propane
>Dale installs hidden cameras
>Boomhauer replaces the back seats with a folding love seat
>Bill spills his beer into the air filter
>>

Remember when Hank was trying to fix his American-made television out of an unwillingness to "let a part of America die" and went so far as to go to a garage sale for the parts?

Pimp My Ride - Arlen Edition

hank didn't love the tv, it was just a prop in his culture war.
>>
>>150547216

Was the King of the Hill cast meant to be 'boomers'?
>>
>>150552382
Yes. We know for a fact that Hank was born in the 50s and the guys all went to high school in the 70s. The adults in the cast (save for Buck, Cotton, and Luanne) are Baby Boomers.
