don't slurp your noodles, it's rude
>>150547260false, you go into a noodle shop and you slurp them out loud to let the owners know they are serving some good shit
>>150547260She filled in nicely
>>150547483please don't sexualize her
Man I know this is going to be a thread about wanting to fuck Noodle but there really was something special about those first 3 Gorillaz albums.
>>150547511those two thoughts can coexist.wish fire coming out of a monkey's head got it's own videonovember comes today introduced me to mf doom, demon days was awesomei also want to fuck noodle
>smugwhat did she know?
>>150547559Fair enough. I like ST and DD just fine and consider them part of that core era but I'd be lying if I said DD wasn't their peak as a coherent album. I kind of wish the whole thing just got animated as a singular coherent narrative. And yeah Noodle really is just plappable regardless.
>>150547609>I like ST and DD just fineOh shit, I mean ST and PB* lmao, you know what I mean.
>>150547260>The Japanese customarily slurp noodle soup dishes like ramen, udon, and soba. Slurping noodles audibly is considered a compliment to the chef, and some believe that it may make the noodles more flavourful
>>150547624sucks that i never really connected with plastic beach as much as the others, it might have the best art
>>150547511There was better integration with the actual characters and the music, and even if the music was abstract and didnt have a theme tied into the characters it gave them an excuse to just have fun with the music videos and just have em dicking around. Now discussion of Gorillaz is mainly just the music and the characters are mostly just relegated as promo art that goes with the album.Like any recent album that has dropped, good or bad, discussion just dies down cause the characters themselves dont do anything beyond commercials or staged interviews. Its a shame cause there have been attempts, like supposedly that one TV show that was greenlit years ago but has just been lost in the void I imagine. Like I wonder why this board specifically goes back to the first 3 albums for discussion and I dont even think its nostalgia cause I hear from fans that a good song drops here and there and that this album was decent or whatever so people still like the music, but there is nothing else being done with these guys. You think that they keep this project alive cause odds are the music itself wouldnt sell otherwise, but that would mean the leads in the projects are hacks, and-
>>150547751>Like I wonder why this board specifically goes back to the first 3 albums for discussionI mean, /mu/ does too, even in spite of their initially dismissive reaction to Plastic Beach all those years ago. I think that's just genuinely the era when the band as a concept was both most relevant and most properly utilized.
>>150547751i can't believe she hit the wall that hard
Phase 2 Noodle remains top.
>>150547260Why did Plastic Beach flop, it's a great album
>>150547835production cost an arm and a leg and the coverage it was getting pre-release was weak compared to previous albums
>>150547835People were expecting Demon Days 2 even though it was its on thing.
>>150547511>>150547559>>150547609GORILLAZ FIRST ALBUM IS THEIR BEST ALBUM
for me its demon dayshttps://youtu.be/iZs2sVlkiQc?si=zDLCRLr3oguJ60-m
>>150547835because it didn't hit when i was in 7th grade
>>150547835Like said, the pre-release was weak for one. While granted, it'll be stupid hard to top the master bangers like Clint Eastwood and Feel Good Inc., I feel having one of those would of helped leading into Plastic Beach. Hindsight be hindsight, though.
>>150547491Delicious Sticc.
Imagine Noodle (adult so no eye covering bangs) with the gear/outfit Murdoch was wearing in Rock The House (and doing the same pelvic motion he was doing)
>>150547751>Like I wonder why this board specifically goes back to the first 3 albums for discussion and I dont even think its nostalgiaIt is because the tone and genre of the first three are very different to Phase 4 and onwards. My father was a massive fan of Gorrilaz and introduced me to Demon Days when I was younger and got me hooked. He got the original fan exclusive release of The Fall and also Journey to the West, yet when Saturnz Barz came out he was very unsure about it. He got me to watch it with him to see what I thought about it and I was also very put off by it. We waitied for the release of Humanz to give it a chance and my father hated it. I tried giving it a listen and I just couldn't get into it either. I can do the original album, D/G-Sides to The Fall but I just cant do any of their stuff after Plastic Beach. It's so very different, and I find that fans of the newer stuff arn't as big on the older stuff, so I really do think it's a genre shift thing. When you compare the original album to Plastic Beach there is a difference in musical style (especially The Fall), but there is still some degree of tonal overlap or style that makes you recongize the two being connected. However by the time you reach Humanz onwards the style has shifted so much there is no longer any real overlap. I am hoping their bollywood style album will be interesting enough to hook me back in on purely genre experimentation alone with indian musicians as The Fall, while very experimental, was good enough to stand by itself.
>>150550739Modern fans can are pretty obnoxious, they can't understand what being a fan during the 2000's was like, they missed out on mtv, pre smart phones, old websites and old forums both official and fan made, they have a very different perception of what Gorillaz is compared to anyone above 25, half of them were born after Plastic Beach and the other half was born after Demon Days, and they can't decide they like the band or if they want to cancel it because they won't shut up about Phase 1 Noodle and Del and bringing up things that were simply from a different time they don't understand.I still enjoy the modern music but it has changed for the worst because they can't afford to be as experimental anymore, they can't count on tv and advertising anymore, everything has to be treated with the potential of being a hit for the masses and can't do anything that may throw the general public off, they don't have anywhere the budget that they used to have and it's a miracle that they're still around at all, now heavily relying on collaborations where Damon feels more like the guest than the actual collaborators and that's on purpose.
Chow mein
She aged like milk
>>150547913That's a weird way to spell Plastic Beach
>>150547717Last good album.
>>150551784>she aged like wine ftfy
>>150551825The fuck? She walled in her 30s
>>150547559>wish fire coming out of a monkey's head got it's own videoWell now it's getting its own album. Potentially
>>150548087Arguably I'd say Melancholy Hill was the hit of the album
>>150547260Imagine her Phase 2 appearance in some of the outfits she was rocking in Phase 4 to the present
>>150551784Cheese is fucking bomb though
Its really ugly and artstyle is not an excuse
I am a lolicon and even I will admit that Noodle only got hotter with age
