How could you fuck up a story this badly?

Reinforcing her value to Gordon would still have 'fridged' her, but it's better and more functional than what we actually got.
I actually saw this in theater with my friends. The first half is just total garbage.

You can argue all you want that Barbara getting crippled contributes to women in refrigerator syndrome, but in the comic she acts like a normal person and not like a brat who needs to get lectured by Pedoman on how she's still green. She also doesn't have a breakdown or looks completely defeated in the hospital, she remains lucid enough to understand what Joker's up to and immediately gets up to inform Bruce when he visits.

The voice you give to the Joker in your head when reading the comic is better than Mark Hamill. I think there's validity to the claim that Alan Moore cursed his works to suck if they're ever adapted. I don't know if it was his choice or it's how he was directed or what, but I hate that Hamill read Joker's "Why can't you see the funny side? Why aren't you laughing?" monologue as an angry rant (complete with a completely made up moment of beating Batman up with a fucking chair) instead of a desperate plea for Batman to see his point of view.
