You think Hasbro was pissed when they let Waspinator survived despite Terrorsaur having a perfectly good Transmetal toy to shill?
I've seen people say him and Scorponok dying when they were changing was supposed to be a backdoor for their return, is that legit?

Hasbro had to pay money for the trans metal models, they knew they weren’t going to advertise every toy. The transmetals we got were the ones Hasbro was willing to pay for.
And yes, that was their back door just in case. If you look at it, all the transmetals except Rampage and Scorponok were all characters that were on the show,so it was a way to keep the show characters available for another year(Scavenger was designed as Inferno).

Also funny thing, the McDonald’s promo that year drovers most of the other show characters not in the toyline. Tigatron would be the only Season 1 character without a transmetal until Botcon 2000
