Never actually watched it. Can anyone here who did say if it was any good.
>>
>>150568339
Yes, it's good.
>>
>>150568339
Yeah it’s good, basically a love letter to silver age comics.
>>
This show is /co/ as /co/ can be, who here hasn't seen it?
>November 18, 2011
Oh my
>>
>>150568339
The voice alone makes it worth watching
>>
>>150568534
Jeff Bennet doesn't get enough credit for his Joker voice
>>
>>150568339
it is in okay category if you like campy Batman
>>
>>150568603
You don't need to do this
>>
I love it. BATB and the B:TAS saga (up through Beyond) are my quintessential Batmen

BATB holds up. Episodes are tight, lean and charming. It didn't run forever so you can watch the whole thing relatively quickly. Great bittersweet finale that leaves you wanting more (the Scooby Doo crossover movie is a nice coda)

It's a love letter to the lore of DC Comics of yesteryear
>>
>>150568339
It's crazy, but BTAS was also a nostalgia wank. The difference was the artistic direction and the lack of quips. But it was exactly the same to the point that BATAB shares some plots with the other.

Yup, we got pure kino.

its aquaman walked so mamoa's could run
>>
>>150568339
It's the gold standard.
It also had the best Aquaman in decades.
>>
>>150568339
It's the best Batman cartoon
>>
>>150568339
Yeah, it is good. Especially the Aquaman episodes

Watch it right now.
>>
>>150568339
It's fun. It was a favorite show of mine back in the day, but it is definitely on the cartoonier side. Better than The Batman 2004 but not as good as BTAS storywise. Can be funny, which Batman doesn't usually do. Also all the Joker episodes were fucking kino. They even redid the intro for one with him instead.

Watch this and tell me if it's "any good".
>>
>>150568339
This thread is 4 hours old, I assumed you have watched some episodes by now OP because without reading any replies I know everyone has said it's good because it is

s'pretty good. I do wish we got that JL spinoff
>>
Honestly one of the best versions of batman.
If you somehow struck a perfect chord between this, BTAS, and the Arkham series you would have the objectively perfect batman.
>>
Watch it you slack-jawed yokel.

Vampire Batman wasn't a good episode.

Batman TAS is to serious Batman as Batman BatB is to silly Batman. They're both 10/10 but fall on totally different sides of the character, and in many ways both can be considered definitive versions of those sides.
>>
>>150568339
Its fun
>>
>>150568339
The art style is neat
>>
I couldn't appreciate it when I was younger because I just wanted more DCAU.
>>
>>150568339
Motherfucker, you are in for a ride. Go watch it NOW!
>>
>>150568339
It's Batman And Friends, essentially, being based on the original Brave And The Bold comics where each issue was about him teaming up with a different super. Lots of obscure (and I mean OBSCURE) DC characters showing up on both sides in this show.
>>
>>150578828
That was how basically everyone reacted at first until word started going around that it was genuinely good. I remember Mayhem of the Music Meister being a huge turning point.
>>
It's funny how he and the other heroes in this series were significantly more competent than their JLU counterparts.
>>
I like this Superman
>>
>>150568339
s'okay
>>
It's great seeing a Batman who motivated, not naval-gazing, and who isn't a nutcase.
>>
>>150582954
I feel like he's a bit dry honestly. I like the show a lot but it's carried by the guest heroes
>>
>>150578828
>>150579347
I always liked gold and silver age stuff as a kid, and plus it came out when I was just old enough to realize what it was trying to do
>>
>>150584519
I also remember losing my fucking mind when they did an episode with the Metal Men in it, because for some reason I loved them as a kid
>>
>>150568339
I liked it.
>>
>>150578828
All of us wanted more DCAU hell I still want more, this was a different flavor of good shit though.

Adam Strange. That's pretty cool.

I actually went into it without knowing anything or expectations and 30 seconds into the cold open of the first episode I shit myself with laughter. I was instantly sold on the show

how come Batman gets to be both light hearted and edgy and everyone is fine with it, but Superman can only be light hearted or else Superman fans piss and shit themselves
>>

It's fun.
It's a pallet clenser after all of the fuck awful grimdark bullshit and desperate attempts to be realistic and philosophical.

I like it but I feel the best parts are when it forgets it's a batman show and just explores DC silver age.
>>
>>150588782
There are a lot of episodes where it's less "Batman with Guest" and more "DC hero star and Batman is also there"
>>

Not only was Timm responsible for resurrecting over 90% of Batman's rogues gallery that had been forgotten over time, but his nostalgia-based approach to storytelling paved the way for Brave and the Bold.
>>
>>150576293
This, it's the silly answer to what TAS did and proves that you can make both versions of Batman work phenomenally well.

Why are you like this, mate?
>>
It was good, but I feel like it was almost limited by being a Batman show. I know Batman prints money and a pure DC Showcase might have been hard to sell to suits and fans but it really shines when it's focused on the guest.
>>
>>150596586
>it really shines when it's focused on the guest
Eh, not really, the best episode of the series is completely Batman-focused.
>>
>>150596739
Stuff like Chill of the Night is good but I think it boils down to a matter of focus.
>>
>>150573917
There was gonna be a spinoff?
>>
>>150579347
Yep. First couple of episodes were a shrug then you acclimated and it was fucking amazing.
>>
/co/ devoured this back when it was airing. It was really good. Back when we made a lot of threads about Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, and the Question too.
>>
it's not the best of batman but it is a love letter to silver age with some good episodes for adults with rewatching, it's specifically made for kids. that being said, it has some crazy ass shit which makes it a fun watch
